Well that will just about do me….....WTF

One word describes this - boondoggle. Or maybe wests-tigers
you'll laugh when someone looks up the meaning, from google

you could have been kind and posted the link or meaning here

Now I have to get off my venting rage off the forum and open a Google search

Very odd re-signing.
Wonder how much he's on, being a reserve grader and all.

fair call, maybe I was a bit harsh, one of meanings, money spent on a possible wasted project.
I just think he is not being utilised to his best potential or ability

Pascoe talking to his subordinates this morning

Pascoe: 'Well fella's today is going to be a rough day. Day after a loss fans are going to be calling for the coaches head. Plus we have to announce that a player who has the entire supporter base buzzing is leaving. But i don't want this day to end on a bad note, we need to get the supporters back onside. i want something positive. So throw some ideas at me

Lackey no 1: ''Well, we could announce another Family Fun Day at our next suburban home game. People love Ferris Wheels?''

Pascoe: ''Hmm nah, we only just did that. What else?''

Lackey no 2: ''How about an offer of a free pie, chips and coke for all members this Friday night?''

Pascoe: ''No no people, this has to be something with substance, something big. Not just a simple thank you gesture. This has to be something that's going to get people excited for the rest of this yr and beyond. Think people think.''

Lackey no 3: ''Why don't we just give Siro a new 2 yr contract?''

Pascoe: ''…...Heeeey, now there's an idea. Write up the contract and get it signed so we can get it out to the members and supporters by 6\. Great work fellas''

Honestly, i sometimes wonder if Michael Scott isn't running this club.

haha i can imagine you losing it at this announcement.

i thought he had potential, but he's been such a bloody disappointment.

we knew he had "potential" but did we actually sign him up on a 4 year contract in 2014 with less than a season under his belt? bloody ridiculous.

Can none of you read. He took up an option for 2018.

If you had an option for FG money in your contract and you had just been dropped well of course you'd take it up
1\. You guarantee that money for the next 2 years.
2\. Even if you sign elsewhere for less then instead of Tigers paying part of it for 2017 they would have 2 for 2018
3\. The club didn;t just offer him an option it's something you have in your contract - so it was before Pascoe and O'Neill in fact the contract was signed in April 2014 so Taylor wasn't even the coach and the board wasn't the current board so no one currently at the club can be blamed for this happening

Anyone who thinks we threw him another year out of the goodness of our heart is kidding themselves but he took it up because he couldn't get anywhere near that money from anyone else

April 2014, I was more thinking April fools when I saw this thread trend.

Could be the highest paid park footy player in history.

Not sure how I feel about this. Certainly has potential but the real question is will he reach it at the Wests Tigers. One can only live in hope.

Spot on…he has a wise accountant and manager ....now if any club wants to sign Sirro the WT have to pay a portion of his 2018 contract too.

Release Addo-Carr news this morning, and then announce this in the afternoon to take our attention away from JAC's departure.

Cheeky bastards…

As others have said, the club did not sign him up, rather Siro decided to take up his option of another year.

Funny how the club puts a big spin on the thing. Anyway who knows, things might turn around for Siro especially with a new face in 2017 with the clip board

Makes me sick to hear this. Taylor must of been kicking himself on this one. Now he will have a sook and pea heart of a 2nd row (who thinks he is a 5/8) on good coin for the next 2 years and if he leaves we will still be paying a portion of the contract.
As you said Check Mate Sirro.

Checkmate Sirro indeed. This hopeless organisation now has to hang on to this pea heart. Unbelievable.

Not doubting you but I just re read the announcement and it doesn't say anything about taking up an option. Have I missed it? Can you direct me to it?

From the WT media release -

_"Sironen said he was excited to have extended his contract with Wests Tigers after **taking up an option for the 2018 NRL season.**"_
