Curtis Sironen released [Official p.40]

I have no problem with him learning his role in nsw cup.

But to call him dumb for not being able to make arguably one of the toughest positional switches overnight is extremely harsh and possibly rife with a lack of understanding of the variances between the roles.

madunit - it's easy to state what you are saying but it's impossible to prove it. Bronson probably was never a quality NRL player. He had his moments but he just wasn't that good.

The same may be true of Sirro.

I like Sirro. He can hit in defence but he doesn't offer enough at this stage with the ball.

The proof is in the basics of his performance. His first instinct when running is on an angle. He still hasn't read what a good line is. He doesn't run good or useful decoys and he is often flat footed defensively, which no back rower can afford to be.

They seem small, but these are some vital issues which shows he is still using techniques and practices developed as a half.

I wanna know who's showing him the ropes?
- we haven't had a decent back rower in forever….

Simon Dwyer was in the coach's box the other night.
Maybe he can give Sirro some insight -
After all, Dwyer was very good pre-injury.

Sirro who?…To be honest he's not being missed one little bit. The team are doing just fine without him. He never really had any impact in the team anyway. He was just a passenger.

I like Siro but Aloiai is better. It's interesting though that Aloiai's stats are also pretty ordinary and he hasn't made a bust out wide.

Aoliai though runs a lot harder and looks a lot more likely to bust the line.

Maybe Siro just isn't going to be a quality first grade player.

Only time will tell. Maybe another coach can help him become, what we hoped he would be.
Not sure if it's a coaching problem with him, or he just doesn't have what it takes to become a success in that position.

That is very harsh on a young player learning a position.

A passenger - Really! Very harsh indeed.

Sirro could be a valuable asset if he wants to prove a point. Now he is wearing our colours for another season the best we can hope for instead of bagging him, is that he works hard and gets back into the top grade. Win win for everyone

I reckon Sirro could easily do what Fifita did if he moved clubs and got the right advice on how to improve his game.

Not sure if he will reach his full potential with us

Onernight? Now your just trying to be funny. And you didn't end with lol, either.

Wouldn't you think he had some good mentors in his father and blocker ? look at his natural size now and in a couple of years he will be same size as his dad or bigger .. put him in the middle and tell him to run straight and hard often and hit like he wants to hurt someone bad but legally ..can he do it ..don't think so as too much like BMM for me.. Will his brother do it .. Yep I think so from what I have seen

Yes overnight. How many games did Sironen have between playing five eighth in the NRL and his first NRL game as a back rower? You are delusional beyond comprehension if you think that move can be done in the time curtis had to do it in and be successful.

Wade Graham spent half a season playing half his games in the centres.

Luke Lewis played in the centres before his shift to the back row.

How many five-eighths do that?

Sironen hasn't been properly taught how to be a good back rower.

It sounds simple, but when you go from being a sideways creative player to a straight running metre eater, its a bigger change than many realise.

2013 - Round 19 he played as halfback.

4 weeks later he played his first game in the back row.

What a useless player. How dare he not be like Gareth Ellis in the space of a month.

Show me a half who moved to the back row in that time who became remotely decent.

Yeah and 3 YEARS later under 3 different Coaches you would think he may have developed a thing or two…maybe

It's the generation tho...always someone else's fault...

He was never taught the basics so he is always going to remain at the same level.

Its stating the bleeding obvious.

If he continues to not be taught anything he'll continue not improving

It's always someone else's fault ? Sorry I'm not buying that line.
