How long has he signed for ?

Extend the contract please

I think it’s a 2 year contract from memory possibly 3, but completely agree we need to lock him up now we don’t want another paps or teddy to come up against in future years

he's signed until the end of 2023. if we become a premiership contender in the coming years I can't see why he'd leave.

I honestly cant recall a player EVEr coming and in looking as good as this kid......Bloody brilliant. Literally could be anything , what a steal!!!

James Tedesco surely

Teddy didn't look this good when he came into grade. Laurie has had a far more impressive start. Doesn't mean Daine will turn into as good as Teddy though. Teddy's physical development since his debut has been a big part of his progression.

It’s always good to hear Brandy compliment Laurie’s game. However, it would carry more weight in the sincerity department if he stopped calling him “the lightweight fullback.”

For anyone interested he featured on Over the Black Dot episode 3 - toward the end of the episode - which can be viewed on SBS on demand. Though he's such a shy kid he sounds ecstatic about his opportunity with us.

He's a natural footballer and fullback. Looks really comfortable and composed doing everything. Hope the tigers don't spoil it with him.

However, we still have a quite a few Sheensians, they want
To play our best FB (by billions %) at HB ????? 🤫

Laurie should be our long term fullback. Let's not muck him around in different positions. Lock him in and let him do his thing!

I would like to see him in the halves

The downvotes are a little harsh, but I don't think he is a half at this stage of his career. He is an elusive and dynamic player but doesn't seem to me like a controlling player yet. I would be keeping him at fullback for the next few seasons at least.

Cannot believe it is even a discussion about moving Laurie to 6..
Adam D is doing great at 6 and Laurie is killing it at 1 with not much ball and against some top teams that defend well..
Even the commentators are raving about him so lets give him a year or 2 to build combos and maybe add a few Kilos.. I truly believe he will turn out to be a superstar and we are lucky to pick him up.

It starts at the 41 minute mark.
Thanks Lauren

Is that because Gus said he’s a better 6 than a 1? I wouldn’t have any idea about that, haven’t seen him play 6.
Not sure he should be restricted in any way though, as a fb he can have more freedom to play 1 or 2 off the ruck when he spots a retreating d line or whatever?
Restricting Brooks to one side didn’t seem to work too well.
The important thing is to have stability in the spine and consolidate combinations that can easily be read by non spine players imo.

I've seen him play 6, he is much better staying at 1 at the moment.

Thanks mate. I’m happy we’ve finally got a FB who is always at the right place, at the right time. He’s a gifted player who is grateful for the opportunity, can you ask for anything more? Well maybe there is one thing..I like listening to Brandy’s commentary on Tigers games..?

I have been so impressed with Laurie, he has been so good under the high ball and his attack is only going to get better as he forms combinations with his team mates.

His footwork sort of reminds me of Ewan McGrady ...probably not as fast off the mark as McGrady though

Defence obviously way better

Just needs time in the NRL. Seems to be improving each week. Hopefully will be that fullback that sniffs around for the offload and backs up a line break (Paps last night for the Storm). We could certainly do with some players in support.
