I watched Morris play park football in the Illawarra one day when he’d been dropped from NRL, point is all players have ups and downs in a career, Nof is at or near his prime and Morris is nearing the end.

Morris' highs are far higher than Nofoaluma will ever achieve. Even in the twilight of his career, Morris remains a superior player to Nofoaluma. Nofoaluma is a club level winger with significant defensive deficiencies.

That’s what makes the chooks so successful, they get the best players while at the same time manage their cap well. I believe Morris is on about the same as JAC was on at Storm, around $350k. I obviously have no idea what transpired between Nofa and Lee after a walk on the fairway and a fine dining experience, but it could have been worse all round. I think we are all grateful they didn’t go to the Abottoir Blues. It just wouldn’t look right having Dave run out with Souths without a jumper.

If it’s true that Nofa is asking $650k then he’s priced himself out of WT. I hope he gets picked up by eels and gets a combo going with Moses. I think we paid too much for Nofa ($450k) at a time when we had all our stars leaving and now it’s biting us on the gluteus because everyone with a sentimental soul , including Nofa, thinks he’s worth an upgrade. During the last 3 years when he was on $450k , Fox was on $350k. I still think his true value to WT is $325k plus a top up with vets and car of about $80k - $100k. You never no if you don’t ask? Someone was desperate enough to buy fox at $650k. It’s going to be very interesting to see how that unfolds?

I agree that we pay 450k at the most and really it's the appropriate amount for Nofo. But Staggs and Crichton are much younger than him and have already had somewhat comparable career best years. Wests Tigers are not signing them on 450-500k and we just don't have the TPAs to do anything else. You can imagine but it will never ever happen.

well quality players like Brandon Smith and crighton Staggs are good players and attract good players so yes it is worth paying a bit overs to them.
Paying our David any more money will not attract quality players it has not in the past.

It just proves that 99% of journalists give the rest a bad name. Hooper should be closer than most to WT, and Channel 9 (Weidler?) also ran with the same story. These are the same journo's some choose to believe as gospel when they mention his salary as $600k etc.

I'm glad he is staying personally and I trust the club around the contract. He is one that is worth giving some extra term to because of his club and community presence.

I actually maintain that the one or two inside these worst defensive pairings isn't helping their cause. Its the same at the eels and Cowboys. Cant blame these outside backs exclusively.

And the best defensive pairings just happen to have some of the best back row defenders inside them.
