How can possible recruits be beasts if they haven't played an NRL game ...or even shone at CC level ....a lot of posters set themselves up for disappointment

Who are you talking about ? Re. Which player ? If it’s Simpkins , I don’t know if he’s a beast or not , I just know he’s a top tier junior . He’d be a 5 star recruit using other sports terminology. Whether that means he can make the step up I don’t know . For me that’s what it’s about . Recruit as many 5 star kids As you can get .

I completely agree. We have to have clear guidelines on what we will pay players. We cannot continue to pay overs.

We let our best forward go and we will be fine. If we lose Nofo we will be fine. If we overpay these guys we will end up a mess again.

Bar a few intercept tries, pretty much all of them were catching the ball from a few metres out and putting it down. Reminds me a lot of Robert Jennings the season before he joined us (2018). Easy to score points when you’re playing outside the likes of Walker, Reynolds, Cook, Murray etc. Think he’d struggle at a low end team

No they weren't, go and watch it again. Jennings wouldn't have scored half those tries.

Jennings was bog average man . I know you agree . Anybody implying that Johnston is as bad is way off the mark . Johnston was the only good thing about Souths to start the year last year. Before all their stars got their act together .He’s supremely Underrated .

Jennings is terrible. Johnston is a very good winger.

That is not why Nofa would be leaving though, he actually has an overinflated belief in his ability. He believes he is worth more than we are offering and also is of the the belief he should have made the SOO team based on his form.

My understanding, as I’ve posted before, is there is an element of frustration from Nofa. He wants to play finals so is keen to make a contract decision that will ease that frustration. Souths seems like a plausible destination. Hope he stays but am happy with club putting a ceiling on his worth.
