I love the passionate Forum members and their comments. What ever you think of Crawley or the Daily Telecrap ***the point is we are still outside of our fan base the laughing stock of the league, friends love to tell me each year another year without finals appearance and whilst we have the occassional good win which we all get excited about and like to think we have turned the corner in the end like the last 9 years ends up with another poor season.*** I think we need to put faith in Maguire cuase god help us if we sack another coach and go through another rebuild (seems to be our motto) and we need to invest in some quality juniors from within and other clubs. Our history of overpaying established first graders from other clubs to attrack them to come to us has not really worked. Yes Ivan really stuffed us up big time.

I think it's undeserved for the team or the players to be called the laughing stock of the NRL. Poor organisational performance has nothing to do with the team.

This article could be taken straight off the forum, as it only readdresses and highlights the innefficiencies of our front office and draws on our recent lack of success. Tbh it's not really ground breaking but mostly provocative for fans. So I suppose job well done to Crawley for getting clicks and reads.

I actually like the media highlighting our performance, it may bring about change.

To some extent I actually agree.
Think my only concern with the scrutiny of our team performances is that it has the possibility of placing too much burden on some of our younger players and may impact potential recruits. But agree no one can justify our past admin mistakes, regardless of how much mental gymnastics it requires to do so.

Great article... at the start of the year we were predicted 12 to 16 by most journalists.
The run home is not that bad
beat roosters under strength
lose to penrith
beat manly (4 point turnaround)
beat souths (4 point turnaround)
Melbourne - they may rest players and we generally play well against the storm style
Parramatta well they may rest players leading to semis
probably win three out of last 6

Where do they get this 300k from ? we get the money back from the Farah debarcle which helps.

If only we had not lost to Gold coast or warriors we would be likely in the 8.

Do think if we lose a few and cant make the 8 then try Madden and move Douhie to 6 experiment a bit and give Rowdy and benji the last game of the year as a send off
if we cant make it do not play Harry give Liddle and possibly Simpkin a run if we can

Even if we win 3 it means Cronulla and souths only need to win 2 or even 1 if they have a better for and against

Have an ever-increasing burning hatred for the poor excuse for a man that is Paul Crawley, he is a dead-set a***hole. Every single time he is on NRL 360 he manages to find an avenue to bring up our club and take a dump on it.
On Tuesday or whenever it was he called out Russell Packer for his crusher tackle on Gutherson and carried in like it was the worst one he's ever seen. Also sookily stated "and he didn't even get a week for it"........pretty sure he did indeed get suspended for it. The week before the panel were talking about salary cap and he pipes up with something like "look at the horrible way Wests Tigers have used their cap" (he's not wrong there though we most certainly aren't the only club who has horribly overpaid certain players, yet he doesn't mention them).
Our club is certainly an easy target for people looking to put the boot in, and that's fair enough, but this knobber Crawley just singles us out every time.....there's a few clubs going worse than ours on and off the field.
He definitely has a floggable melon and his personality just completed the whole package. Not sure what problem he has with our club, but there clearly is one. Maybe WT have barred our players from speaking to him in the last year or 2 or something??

I hate Crawley but most of what he's written is correct unfortunately.

Half correct if he's lucky. Incorrect or pure opinion:
- 300K spending money
- Tigers trying to offload all of Mbye, Brooks, Packer, Reynolds
- BJ and Doueihi being bad signings
- Tigers trying to play JAC at fullback
- "Heavy lifting" by Shane Richo and Johnny Lang at Souths - they got Souths to 9th and 10th both of Lang's years, but that's exactly what Fatso is criticising Madge for in the article
- tremendous squad including John Sutton - "including" Sutton yes, by way of fact, but tremendous = no
- In "January Harry Grant was coming" - the deal was not done until March 21 and until then it was pure theory with NRL no guarantee to allow the move

Typical DT crap to troll fans, with broad swipes of semi-fact mixed in with rumours, opinions and un-named quotes.

But it's an easy target to harangue middle-of-road clubs, you could write the same opinion piece about Sharks, Manly, Titans, Broncos, Souths, Dragons, Warriors etc. and it would all be "somewhat" true, based solely on # wins and nothing else.

But you'll not find Crawley writing anything against Souths on account of his husband Bennett providing them a shield.

Wow ,It took him much longer to bring Souths into the article than usual.. Must be being paid per sentence.

I'd like to see the list. It would be interesting. Some of the players on it would be players that a vast majority of forum members were happy to see the back of at the time. Then there is the collateral damage from the Isaac Moses attempted assassination of the club.
When you go back to the very beginning of WT the recruitment wasn't even handled well back then.

Maybe time for us to aim higher/ demand more. Our younger posters would not remember us playing semi final footy and they are in high school.
Maybe this club needs a rocket from outside because fans will make excuses for failure.

Fifita as well.....how far back does this knob want to go? Fifita's last good season was 2016.

Some within the club white-anting Potter.....Cleary, Teddy, Moses and Woods doing the dirty on us. Not having the sombrero other clubs have, seemingly not liked by some refs.... sure the club has made some bad decisions, but there's been a bit that's been unexpected and out of the club's control.

4 coaches in 8 years and people are still wondering why there's been no finals?

Even with all this, we still have one of the biggest fan bases.
