After tonight's game I do not want Potter signed yet ..that display was a joke .the selections were a joke ,the team has absolutely no idea how to split a defensive line ….5 up And kick all night.Young Brooks is being thrown to the wolves IMO , all Anasta does is run across field and gives hospital passes.
It is apparent that a few should not be in the side and until Potter starts to make the hard decisions I do not want him signed, imagine 3 years of what you saw tonight ,yes Robbie comes back as the one man team .What is it with Austin on the bench what is that about ever week the winning formula was 4 pigs on the bench
I have been a big supporter of Potter but I am having second thoughts as what I am seeing gives me no confidence at all....PLEASE souths were a no name side tonight .

Yep past 3 weeks have been terrible.

Broncos - lost/Lulia on bench

Knights are coming 15th and we
beat them by 3

Tonight's performance

sheer stupidity…. sign him and he wont feel as if his selections will have a bearing on his future.

would you make a big call with your future in the balance, or once it was shored up make that possibly unfavourable call. The consequences are dire for Potter now without his future secured. Once locked up and Origin out of the way, I see a different selection criteria from Potter.

Well the big calls that he is making at present won't be doing him any good , time to show what he has got to offer not doing the Sheens act of selecting under performing and injured players every week I thought this had changed ,time for the coach to stamp his authority on this team and run on form.

This team hit the wall a month or more ago and their last three wins could have easy gone the other way. Tonight was rubbish against a side that did not play very well, but do you really think Potter will change things next game????Anasta will be their and Lawrence will be their.

I think the board has to look long and hard at their coaching options for 2015, because at present Potter is getting very little out of his team and keeps picking players who are well past it

I agree with you Supercoach. Can't sign Potter for long term on performances. Selections are questionable at best. Likes picking same players irrespective of performances. I don't know which game he is looking at? Last player dropped was Benji.
This is first grade, needs to make the hard calls. That's what he gets paid for!

Ok, seriously, has Potter had the troops until tonight to drop players at will? With the stabilising force that is Robbie Farah out for Origin could he afford to make wholesale changes?

I agree the changes need to come, dont think I am arguing that fact, but he promoted obviously underdone players to inject spark, how much of the rest of the team do you think he should have unsettled? We kicked off, 2 top performing props in Gavet and Woods down, Halatau buckled his first hit… thats a massive blow vs the monster pack that is Soufs.

Sheens would have shuffled the deck, Potter chose to keep a familiar shape bar promotions. It obviously didnt work, but no-one knows how bad a further shuffle would have gone, its not as if he left Anasta out there all night, and other than running who maybe Akauola at centre for Lawrence, there wasnt much else we had available.

Potter is testing changes... Braith on the bench is proof he knows we need change.

I have respect for mick potter he was a gun when he played the game . But my thinking is that he seems like he's not all their in the head ?
Did he get many concussions as a player ?
Do any of you guys /girls have his phone number so I could have a quiet chat to him about where his head space is with team selections and where he thinks our mighty tigers are heading .

Potter's team this week was pathetic and he got what he deserved.

I have been a fan of his in general however picking Braith and Lawrence all year is nearly a sackable offence. Ita costing us 6 or 12 or 18 points in some games!!! Tonight 18 points came directly the set after these guys made inexplicably poor, inept individual errors.

I say wait and see what happens with Potter. He will either wise up, or be gutless and probably pay for it with his job.

Its funny… lets say we started Austin at 6, so didnt carry Braith as we all hoped... that would have meant a full game with Luani at 9 seeing as Halatau was in lala land first tackle. We would have run an extra prop, but it was Luanis poor service close to the stripe behind Austins knock on, at that range he doesnt have time to watch a ball into his hands, he was in heavy traffic without a full 10m...

Every selection has an equal and opposite reaction.... without Austin at 9 we have no try... no Braith means no Austin at hooker... the opposite is true as well, the changes may well have changed the game in our favour, but the armchair experts cannot prove their choices and decisions, only Mick Potter can.

Deep breath boys.

What happened Mick Potter was the best coach in the world ? Hurry up lets sign him before St. George does
He has never been a good coach and will never be a good coach. Maybe a job in Admin would be more down his alley.
Webster is the guy that needs to be promoted.

Just thinking about Potters recent selections and i am wondering if Toad Payten our assistant coach has been influencing him with those Sheen like selections. Just a thought.

Over reactive idiots almost to a man here. Potters selections for one are nothing like Sheens - whether that be good or bad Potter replaces like for like when someone is out something many wanted Sheens to do but he would shuffle players across positions. Potter picks 4 forwards on the bench - even last night Halatau, Austin, Sue, Seumanufagai all played forwards last night.

Souths star forwards were available as they are english and don't play origin. Did Souths sack M Maguire when we beat them the first time ?

If Anasta doesen't get selected last night our spine is 4 virtual rookies and that isn't ever a good idea. Yes we sturggle without Robbie and Woods against Souths they are one of the premiership favourites it can happen.

Lawrence has been having a great season and just had a shocker but that happens, you dont play someone in Origin because they have 1 good game and you don't sack someone because of one shocker especially as we have no one else to replace him with as Lulia isn't better.

Mick has turned a team that was Wooden Spoon favourites at the start of the year into a side that will most likely make the finals. SIgn him for 3 years right now.

I am a Potter fan however this is 100% spot on. I think I'd sign him but not for long term. His team selections recently are making me wonder if he is the right man for the job.

The Souths coach has dropped Merrit. I don't see why Potter cannot make the tough calls.

Absolute reactionary rubbish. Potter is the best thing that has happened to WT for a very long time. Thankfully you guys don't have any influence.

We are building. We were competitive against one of the premiership favourites without two of our best players and with many players underdone (Sue, Sironen, Halatau). We turned over way too much ball and made too many mistakes and paid the price against a ruthless pack.

Lawrence had a poor game, won't happen again for a while. You think Lulia would have been much better? Blair was also very poor.

Suspect Anasta has till end of the origin period after which Austin gets first shot at 6, then Moses gets blooded.

selections aside, the whole game plan is so predictable and so easy to defend. 99% of our plays go to the same side, we have two attacking options in Simona and Nofo who only ever get to run from Dummy half. I think Mick has a mindset on the make up of the team and the game plan and cant get away from it when things are not working

What a difference a couple of weeks and a couple of losses make.

Not long ago Potter was a Champion; winning games; replacing like with like; really good bringing the youngsters on. Sign him up now - long term or short term was the cry.

A couple of losses and a little window opens for Potter, Anasta and Lawrence bashers to have another real go.

What happened to - we may make the eight, it is a rebuilding year, the youngsters need game time to learn, it is really going to be a "Rocks and Diamonds" year - suddenly all of this has been forgotten.

No Robbie, Woods or Gavet is going to find you out big time - not as much go forward you don't have brooks doing as much because he doesn't have time. No Fulton and it leaves a swinging door in the centre.

What about the people who gave all the credit to Kidwell and Payton for all the good plays and coaching when we were winning and that Potter did nothing. Shouldn't you be asking for them to be sacked - after all they are the real coaches.

Defence lets in tries - Thompsons miss on the first try; Ave and others missing Johnson up the middle etc..
This was not Potter's fault - he is not the defensive coach - by the same reasoning as in earlier games why are you not asking for their heads.

It is easy to blame and much more difficult to fix. Let us support the people we have to do the job and believe me they will - Once again - patience people.

Hahahaha. All these people saying cut Potter. Who do you think we would replace him with? We don't exactly have a spare couple of million to throw around. Besides, he's still dealing with the remnants of the Sheens era. We've steadily improved under Potter. All the players he has brought in have played well. He didn't bring in players like Anasta, Lawrence, Blair etc. he's getting the best out of the cattle he has. I remember everyone crying and sooking about us bringing Richards back, and how has that turned out? If sheens was still here Brooks would be in reserve grade looking for a cub next year with Teddy and Mises, with Benji at halfback and Anasta stinking it up even worse than he is now. Potter is a good coach. You can see what he is trying to accomplish. He's not like Steve Price, or Ricky Stewart, this guy has a clue
