Fox are the first to lay the slipper into any player at the slightest suggestion of wrong doing. It'll be interesting to see whether they actually do their job or if they'll play their part in the cover up. Considering how many female journalists they have at Fox, I wonder what their take on all this will be.

I hope the grub is wiped out of the media completely.

I agree, heads will definitely roll for this. It's a pretty horrible sequence of events.
 
Notice the investigation was done by the { News} Australian journalists. They obviously couldn't trust the compromised cub scout reporters at their sister publication. They needed to keep Souths sycophants like Crawley out of the loop.

The newspaper are reporting allegations made by others. They have not made the accusations up themselves. It appears that everything they have published is backed up by witness statements and other documentation.

Besides, there are two investigations running here - the police and the Integrity Unit. Even if the police decide they don't have enough evidence to proceed, that doesn't mean that the Integrity Unit will not find evidence of wrongdoing on Souths behalf (some breach of NRL protocols) and take action separately.

Funny that you mention Crawley i doubt very much if he is very critical of souffs,you can only imagine the furore if it was us that did it.Voss will also probably play it down a little as well being another fan of the "filth of the league'

This reporting and the matter is well above league writers. No leaks for full impact.
 
Really hard to understand how people are thinking that this is anything other than close to, or if not, 100% true and correct. There are statements, messages, emails, phone call registers, multiple witnesses and even pharmaceutical records.

Maybe a bit of room for journalistic licence expanding it a little, but the piece was pretty well full of factual information and not much else.

I'm really surprised the nrl haven't stood down the club Dr.

Surely he has committed a crime and should be stood down under the no fault policy?

Even if it's under investigation and the Dr is denying it, the nrl should ask him straight up to sign a statutory declaration denying it.

In these cases, the silence and politically correct speil is deafening.

If I was the South's club, Russell Crowe, Sam or the team Dr and I was innocent, I would be holding a press conference asap. I would be telling anyone who would listen that it was lies and being an open book.

Standing down and hiding away don't seem like the actions of innocent people. Not to the public anyway.
 
There should be people at Souths being stood down.... if they did know about Sam doing this to his partner and swept it under the rug they cannot be part of the NRL. That includes Russell Crowe.

Agree 100%.

It reads like an investigation, not a news column. And the weak "we will investigate" club response proves it.

If I was accused of this, my employer would immediately say " we have spoken to our employee and he completely denies everything published. We as a company have no knowledge whatsoever of these allegations. We take this very serious and an independent investigation has already commenced. We will not be associated with these allegations "

Instead, nothing from club, Sam, Rusty or the Dr.

Wouldn't you want to clear your name asap?
