Dugan megathread

This news would be massive, The Next Aussie fullback in Tigers colours and running off Benji…

Dare we dream.

Yep, they are talking about it on the Raiders forum also. Fingers crossed.

That would be great, hope we get a positive response, but I think he has his heart set on joining the latte set, don't know where that leaves Mini though.

Why has that bloke on the Radiers forum got a picture of numbnuts raiders fans yelling at Carney?

Carney calmly slotted that one straight between the posts. Nice work douchbags.

Sorry for pointing out the obvious, but I cannot see Raiders management wanting to release our best player a year before his contract is up.

From what I have heard, Dugan is very happy in Canberra and is mates with all the younger lads eg. Massey, Ferguson, Croker, Thompson, Fensom and Vidot. He harbours ambitions to win a title with these players.

Ay Joey, I am also sorry to point out the obvious…. BUT,
Money Talks....
AND... Blake Ferguson also left the Sharks to win a premiership, How's that looking now?
He would've been better off where he was.
I don't mind your Raiders, I live here and go to all the home games (When the Tiges aren't on)
But if Doogs wants to win a GF... Which I guarentee he does, He has more chance doing it from West Side.
The poor old Raiders aren't going far, And I can't see that changing anytime soon.... And the coach simply doesn't like him!!
ps: We also have the Australian Coach...... BOOM!!

I'm just stating what I have heard.

If "money talks", then there is definitely no chance of him leaving. The Raiders have all the funds to meet his requests.

It'd be foolish to write us off, when we are yet to have Campese, Williams, Dugan, Ferguson, plus our forward pack on the field at the same time. Those are the reason why we were billed to make top 4 this season.

I can guarantee rumours will continue to float around until a decision on his future is made, but I'd be very shocked if he does move elsewhere.

Foolish??? We also are yet to be full strength….
But sit comfortably in the middle of the pack.
And you guys lost Campo before this year....
How you were rated so highly without him for 1/2 a season is beyond me...
Your rubbish when he's not in!!

That angle won't get much traction here brother, you're talking ~4 combined rep games above versus the ~40-50 rep games of Tuqiri, Ellis and Lawrence who've been out at various stages.

Who cares about rep games?

All that matters, is the importance of the players to our team. Dugan, Campese, Shillington and Learoyd-Lahrs have all struggled to string any games together and they are instrumental to our side. The former three will be out for the game this weekend.

When you get them together with the likes of Ferguson, Croker, Vidot, Williams, Fensom, Thompson and Papalii, then we can return to this topic.

The bottom line is, he'd be foolish to leave when we haven't had a chance to play our strongest possible this season. I think Dugan sees this, hence why I will be shocked if he did leave. As well as a number of other reasons.

I think we may have discovered by now that buying 30 something outside backs or fb's with long injury histories isnt a smart idea..altho with Sheens u never know

I swear we bought a fullback who had missed 2 seasons with broken ribs, and another player who missed 2 season with a broken leg.

That totally didn't work out for us. OHHH yeah, we won a premiership that way 😱pen_mouth:

There's no way we would fit Dugan into your salary cap. I can't see it being done even having 6 or 7 players on minimum NRL wages. We would be a force if he did come to us though.

Tigers have had to deal with problems too.
Our left side is our most potent form of attack and Probably the best in the comp.
Benji, Ellis, Lawrence, Tuqiri.

Tuqiri has missed 11 games this year
Lawrence has missed 12 games this year
Ellis has missed 7 games this year
Benji has missed 1 game this year

in 6 games we have had 3/4 out. Rounds 4,5,8,10,11,12
in 5 games we have had 2/4 out. Rounds 6,7,14,15,16
in 3 games we have had 2/4 out. Rounds 2,3,13

So in 11/15 games so far this season we have been missing at least half of main contributers in attack.

Yet we still manage to be hovering around the middle of the pack.

I'm not saying the Tigers haven't had their injury concerns, but I'm just stating that ours have had the ability to drastically derail the season. Campese- our main go to man in all aspects in attack: he's played 8 minutes this season and Dugan- has only played 4 full games this season.

Those aren't just any random injuries. They are injuries to our 2 BEST players. They haven't played a single minute together this season. We base our attack around their abilities. On top of that we have occurring injuries to TLL, Shillo, Joel Thompson, Orford (though pathetic, we did have hopes that he would ease the pain of Campo's injury) and Picker… with these, it'd be a shock to see us be contenders this season.

Anyway, no need to derail the thread.

Who cares! Both teams have under performed this season.

Back on topic…. We have no chance of signing Josh Dugan! IMO.

I think it is a joke that we are having any type of discussion with FAsers SUPPORTERS about reasons why the teams are underperforming!!!!!!
I have it on "good authority" that the Tigers "have Dugan/Blair/ 2 saints u/20's prop'ssigned sealed & soon to be delivered!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Faders coach/management are a bunch of MUPPETS FOR signing ORFORD- THE MOST INCOMPETENT,AND MORONIC SIGNING OF 2011!!!!!!
