He is a wing 3/4 on reported $750 for next 3 years.
No game changer ..... we can get 2 decent players for just bit more ..... so would have been ok as a trade for Packer but otherwise no loss.

@snowy55 Offloading means paying freight for few years which is not desirable ..... swapping of player you don’t want in the vicinity of same contract $s ..... is the go. So yes we may find that a difficult issue for unmotivated player like Packer.

Oh well, its happened, things didnt turn out in our favour. Time to move on in the search for some talent- here's a hint. look for the ones stuck in reserves behind a roster full of stars- ie target reserves at Storm, Roosters, Broncos and Penrith.

Why is everyone so upset? It’s not like DWZ is a player who would have taken us to the promise land. He may be a better back than what we have, but not by much. The way everyone was hanging on this signing, you’d think it was Latrell Mitchell. Could you imagine Roosters fans having a meltdown over missing out on DWZ?

All the excuses in the world can be trotted out but Maguire has handled things appallingly the last few weeks from team selections to leaks to the press.

Sure he got screwed by Cleary, but he also stupid enough to allow Cleary to play him. Cleary has already dug his own grave and its only a matter of time before that assumption becomes reality.

Maguire has got to put his head down, work hard, calm the current situation that he alone has instigated and prove that he really can coach (I have my doubts).

My tip move heaven and earth to sign Scott Drinkwater, whose career has so much upside, a DWZ signing was chasing rainbows and an expensive one at that.

@GNR4LIFE I tend to agree. DWZ is a classy player I'd be happy to have, but I don't think he wants to play wing (where he is best), so not much of a bonus unless we're cutting Mbye free.

We will probably get Aaron Gray, he seems the calibre of player we can attract. The only club i can see that would take our scraps would be the Titans. We should try trade them Maqueen for Peachy just to stuff the panthers.
