Farah set to sue the Tigers

By Tony AdamsAugust 27, 2016

THE Robbie Farah saga is set to take a sensational turn with the star hooker considering taking legal action against Wests Tigers for harrassment in the workplace.

Sources close to Farah have told RLW that the Blues State of Origin hooker has reached the end of his tether and has barely been seen at the club for training this week.

Farah has sought legal advice and is believed to be set to launch a claim that he has been bullied and harrassed by club officials.

Farah is also likely to claim that his long-running feud with coach Jason Taylor has caused him depression-like issues.

Farah has been involved in a bitter war with Taylor over his position in the top grade all season.

He was due to play for the Tigers in the NSW Cup last weekend but pulled out of the team at the last minute, allegedly because of a virus.

Farah has a year to run on his contract with the Tigers but has been in talks with Souths for 2017.

Wow, I don't know why I'm surprised.. The sooner he leaves the better. Looks like he's trying to take the club down with him though. Not confirmed as true, but I wouldn't put this kind of stuff past him..

He has the same legal rights as anyone else
If he has genuine grounds( and none of us know whether he has or not) he's perfectly entitled to sure the arse off them, if he hasn't he'd be wasting his time.

He must have some proof of this or it is just another nail in his coffin - i'll bet the Players Assoc jump all over this to put the boot in to the Tigers as they have done in the past.

Wasn't it Julieanne Levick SC who tore JT a new one and made comments to the effect that it seems that Pascoe is hamstrung by the Board in the context of JT's future at the club.

Wasn't it also JT who threatened to sue the Rabbits when he was punted for running into that players' fist?

That story reads like a woman's mag. Plenty of "sources close to" "believed to be "

I'll believe it when it happens.

Are you surprised someone is prepared to stand up for his or her rights in the workplace? A current SOO player dropped for reasons of cohesion? It is a disgraceful look for this club and JT is an ongoing source of embarrassment to WTs.

Calm down Sam.

Can we get a doctor to classify that as a career ending injury? Depression like issues, that is not good. Did the professional that diagnosed this also recognise his **narcissistic personality disorder**?

**Insurance companies ..as they do..would knock it back on the grounds of Pre-existing condition..\
\**
I also take note of this

bullied and harrassed by club officials.

Plural ie. meaning more than 1….seems the sources close to Farah have revealed a little more than just a coaches decision...Interesting times...

But now we could just pay him out as unfit to play and not have to worry about it affecting our cap thanks to the NRL/Parra precedent.

Is that the same Julieanne Levick who represented John Hopoate , Todd Carney & Dylan Walker ?
Sounds like she wants to be the female version of Chris Murphy .

She is not senior counsel and she never will be.

Well I'm looking forward to hearing any actual details that would give him a solid case, if they exist. Currently it looks like he's suing the club for being dropped to reserve grade.

I think a Solicitor isn't going to waste his time if there isn't sufficient evidence.

I don't know about in this case but as a general proposition that is not correct. An intelligent and ethical solicitor would not commence an action that was foredoomed to fail but not all solicitors fit into that category I can assure you.

Well she also went into bat for Will Hopoate vs the Eels when they didn't register his contract . To me that sounded dodgy but she couldn't get that one over the line in the ensuing 12 months .

And that is what I'm saying Nelson a Solicitor will obviously be saying "Yes you do have grounds to sue " or " No you have no grounds to sue ".
A proper Solicitor won't waste his time without knowing that he will get the right outcome for his client.

Something has to be going on cause he can't be that stupid to sue the Club for being dropped to Reserve Grade.

I wouldn't bet my house on that one. He's done a pretty good job so far at least as far as his reputation is concerned.

I guess we can safely assure we will never see him in a Tigers jersey again

What a sook…to think I once admired our (C)

i dont know…. Farah does seem like the kind to cut of his own nose to spite his face.

He will be the gift that keeps giving for years to come.

She blamed Souths for Dylan Walker abusing prescription drugs & for damaging his reputation, lol .
Wonder who she blamed for him punching a hole in a door & breaking his hand this year ?

I laughed!

heres a "wild" thought…..

maybe this action or intention to act is merely a way to force the club to once and for all make a decision on his future ?

anyone know how much a Qc costs ?
anyone know how much taking a matter like this to the courts will cost ?
The parramatta club recently spent upwards of 500K challenging the nrl, and that was 1 1/2 sittings in the actual court room

Farah's manager - sure a lot of you dont like the guy, but hes as up to speed as they come.
im quite sure he would have legal advisors that would challenge the club - based on everything thats happened to date, threats of reserve grade, this whole team cohesion rubbish, SOO this year etc etc etc
.......... and have a minimum of a 50/50 chance of succeeding

In legal worlds this means - they are forcing to the club to make a decision that will reduce their legal bill, reduce the matter continuing in the public domain and - everyone would hope - ending this merry go round once and for all

if not, the club could end up paying his contract out, paying a massive legal bill + his (if he wins costs) annnnnnnd ongoing medical treatment costs.

mental health issues are a big deal in our game at the moment ....

wow ! what a debarcllllllllllllllllle

whos got the popcorn, this could actually become a bigger circus than whats its been
