George rose

I'm not sure I see a point to signing him. Woods, Galloway, Blair, Ava, Sue, Buchanan, Groat, Gavet, Toupou…. not like we are running short on front row options. In fact, we probably have too many.

Get Joe Picker or Scott Bolton to play in the backrow, and I'm onboard.

Sue is more a back-rower, Gavet is un-proven, Blair plays back-row for the most part and I think Groat will be let go.

The point would be experience in the front row. Galloway and Woods would be the only "experienced" front rowers at the club from the list you've given. Rose has played in a grand final and actually bends the line. Surprising footwork for a big-boned bugger, and provides decent impact off the bench or for depth. Not to mention a bit of a funny bugger which could help in current times.

Good signing if true IMO, and wouldn't bust the bank. I do agree that we are in need of some big back rowers though.

If it was true, wouldn't it make sense that it would be announced with the other signings today?

I call BS, however stand to be corrected.

He's a professional athlete, I'm sure he's healthy. Fat has nothing to do with health

As a fat person: :roll

Fat people can be unhealthy but it doesn't mean they necessarily are. He wouldn't be playing week in week out if he was unhealthy.

True, some people just naturally carry / deposit more weight than others. Not all skinny people are healthy and not all fat people aren't.

Fat has nothing to do with health?

You should publish a medical paper on that.

Obviously being fat is often associated with bad health because of the other factors it often causes (blood pressure, heart failure etc) but you can assume he's unhealthy coz he's fat

Fat has plenty to do with health and George without doubt is unhealthy. What i think u may be trying to say is that u can be fat and fit at the same time which George is.

Way too many signings already, i think we would have depleted any cash left over..
Plus we NOW seem to have finally got the depth allround so i would stop the signings now..
Sorry George, next time, unless you are coming at 1/2 price.

We like our players discounted

Probably. Either way, only George can really tell us how he's feeling

http://www.sportal.com.au/league/news/manly-have-no-love-for-rose-246229

A rose is usually the sign of love but it appears Manly may not be as smitten with popular cult figure 'Gorgeous' George Rose as he is with them.
Six weeks out from the finals the prop with the public bar build is still without a contract for 2014 despite impressive cameos off the bench in recent weeks.
He is hoping to stay at Brookvale and will continue to present his case over the next two months – or be forced to join the unemployment queue.
"I'm still unsigned for next year. I threw a few hints out there but didn't get any bites back so I'm not much of a fisherman," Rose said with a smile on Thursday.
"I'll have to leave it up to my manager now. He'll do the shopping and I'll just try and play good footy."
**Rose has been linked with Wests Tigers, who have already signed his Manly team-mate Brent Kite for next season.
Former Balmain great Steve Roach, who coached Rose at Manly, said he would be a welcome addition at Concord.
"I can't believe Manly hasn't signed him," Blocker declared.**"I am surprised. Whoever signs him will get the best out of him.
"That is because George will have something to prove. A new club would take him out of his comfort zone."
Rose, who has played 123 NRL games, admits the uncertainty can be unsettling.
The 30-year-old said: "When it starts to get towards the back end of the year you do worry a little bit.
"I could be at Centrelink come November (applying for) Youth Allowance or New Start.
"I have always wanted to stay here - that's been the case since I came here – but if I'm unwanted here it will be up to my manager to find me something else.
"I'm not trying to be a millionaire, I just want to play footy.
"I'm happy to keep playing. If we keep winning and I'm part of it then hopefully it will be good for me."
Rose can further his cause with a big game against battlers Parramatta at Parramatta Stadium on Saturday night.

Interesting comment regarding Brent Kite, I thought he sighned with Penrith
