Golden Point

Taking the loss on the chin tonight because the boys really dug deep and had a go, but in all honesty, the Golden Point rule has to go. A draw is a much fairer result for any 2 teams that have slugged it out and are so evenly matched at the end of 80 minutes. Golden point is not good for the game - all it does is demoralize the losing team after they have given their all, while the winners can only think themselves lucky to get away with the 2 points.

I'm pretty sure that most Rugby League fans would agree with me, so I have to ask, why the hell does the NRL persist with implementing things that nobody likes or wants? They're as bad as the Abbott Government  As far as I'm concerned they can p–- both Golden Point and Monday Night Football off anytime they like - the sooner the better, imo.

Hate it always have….A draw is a result...should only apply to Finals games and Origin..

Oh and BTW you can Thank Queensland for it's introduction

Nah, its great, despite how i'm feeling tonight. Its absorbing, never a dull moment. I don't like kissing my sister.

Bet you don't have an issue when we win the Ashes with a drawn series result when we hold the Ashes

Bring back the Draw

Golden points are a lottery and are won by a field goal 99% of the time. A much fairer way of deciding golden point is to disallow field goals and decide the winner on the first try scored in golden point time.

They should make it that the only way you can win the game is by scoring a try (golden try). That way refs won't be scared to blow legitimate penalties.

If no one scores a try after 10 minutes. End the game as a draw and one point each.

All good ideas Newtown, Tony and WD, but I'd still rather they forget it altogether. The League had functioned quite happily for nearly 100 years without it. If they can't be split after 80 minutes of slogging it out then a draw is the only fair result, imo - what's wrong with getting a competition point each? The League's incessant penchant to change things that are working just fine really irritates me (stupid new rule interpretations included).

just give 10 mins extra time, field goals allowed but the game doesn't end after a point is scored, it ends after the 10 mins. This way teams won't be going for field goals as the opposition can take a short kick off.

Agree on both counts.

Well, I was supposed to replace Bob Carr as NSW Premier after he gave it away, but it never quite worked out for me

Just get rid of golden point

Simple

I wonder how much that one point will come back and bite us later in the season

Exactly, I would've given anything to get 1 competition point last night and our guys deserved it.
