Goodbye Benji! Goodbye Farah!

hmmm, thought i had replied to this thread okay? got lost somewhere….

all i wanted to say is that end of last season and up til a few weeks back benji was fantastic. unfortunately those errors that were dramatically decreased and had little negative overall outcome have crept back.
hopefully he can quickly find his spark again becuase we all know he wont get dropped no matter what.
i think criticism of sheens is a bit premature too. apart from farah at 7 again, he hasnt in all reverted to the annoying old days of shuffling the same players around and has been giving young guys a go.

hey, its all part of being a tigers supporter... wouldnt surprise me if we win the comp this year!!

Who said Farah can't defend? What a moron, he's in the top 5 defensive hookers of the comp and one of the best defenders at a club easily. If you're going to bag out Farah, at least get the facts right.
Right, it doesn't matter, he's not tough unlike Ennis and his 6 missed/inneffective tackles a game.

Marshall always has been always will be over-rated.

His low-light reel is hours longer than his highlight reel.

Finally someone who knows what there talking about, i've been harping on about him for years and i think some are actually starting to see what i have been on about. The worst thing that could of happened to Benji and the Tigers was him signing a lifetime contract. REALLY DUMB MOVE WT!!

I am really disgusted by the events on Sunday at the SCG!

One of the worst performances by a Wests Tigers outfit was viewed by thousands of Tigers fans and Rugby League supporters on Sunday afternoon. I felt embarrassed, ashamed and very very sad that this wonderful club of mine fell apart both on the field and in the stands! :frowning:

It was evident that just after 3 seconds of play the game was over! Heads went down and our players were already taking the "it just isn't gonna be our day approach"! 3 SECONDS!!! :smiling_imp:

Let me just firstly say that; Benji Marshall is and has the potential to be a great captain and leader of this club but….........
he is a long way away from this! I will single him out only to express this next point, but let it be understood that all barring 2 players on sunday should be disgusted and disgraced at the performance on sunday.
THIS MOMENT WAS WHEN I KNEW THAT THE GAME WAS OVER:
Benji's dismal chase of Nathan Merrit (1st TRY) was the most heartless act I have seen any Wests tigers player put in.
He simply gave up with 15m to go....no ankle tap attempt, no diving tackle....just took the pedal off the gas and let the bunny in straight under the posts. YES, he probably wouldn't of stopped the TRY but WHY did he stop TRYING is the question I have been asking myself ever since that moment. I expect better from a national captain, a lifetime contact signaturee, a player that is capable of producing some of the deadliest attacking rugby league when he wants to!!!
Benji, you really let me down mate! I thought that your determination to get back on track with your injuries was inspirational but that performance yesterday really left a bitter taste in my mouth. 😕

A heartless - spineless and cowardly performance was put out by 15 of our 17 players!

2 players were fighting the fight....Ellis and the Rhino!

One has been with the club for several years, he has had his ups and downs but no one in their right mind could ever say truthfully that The Rhino has ever not put in or given everything once on the field!

The other has been here for little over a year and has won the hearts of us loyal and hard working fans. Gareth, you represent this club and its supporters by your actions on the field! You are humble but hard working, you have a young family of your own but yet never forget the family you have in the stands that support you at every game! You have never let us down in the time you have worn our colours and for that I simply say: THANKYOU!
You quietly are the fan favourite regardless of what the media say about the rest. We would love you as our captain because you are a leader. you pride yourself on good performances and you respect the club that pays you and the supporters that make this wonderful game of rugby league so great. I am proud to say that you are my favourite player! you have ticker, you have humility and you truly are an inspirational rugby league player! 17 of you and we would re-write the record books!
Honestly, you inspire me to be the best I can be. You are worth the price of entry, it is a damn shame that the others around you aren't worth the bus fare out to the game.

I only wish that all of those that surround you and wear our famous colours would show the same respect to the game, the emblem and the fans as you do.

Gareth for Captain!!!

I think Benji should come on off the bench.l start fulton at 6 then do the shuffling when benji comes on.
also, i think Lui is another reason we are not winning games. he has nothing.

YES LETS BLAME IT ALL ON BENJI AND FARAH.
(sorry felt the need for caps)

anyway honestly throwing the blame on them is stupid…

I dont think our 2nd rows and props are doing enough...

In the game against souths i saw Ryan, Tuquri and Ayshford taking more hit ups then them all!!! it seemed like every run was a back rower...

Them not doing anything in attack, when it comes to defence u think they would be fresh? but no they cant defend for shit!

Also we need to hit the ball with speed.. we need to get fast 2nd rowers and props taking these hit ups we have zero speed besides heino..

perhaps now with the benji no show for training you are better able to understand what i have said previously about benji and robbies team issues.our forwards perform we can win a game these two perform and we can win a premiership.

You have no idea. Fulton is out for 6 weeks and Lui played his second game of the season last Sunday.

What about the other one when he ran along side (i think it was Merrit again) for about 20m and didn't even attempt to tackle him, he ended up scoring but it got called back for a knock on or forward pass or something.

yeh mate we are sure to score way more tries with Fulton in the halves and Benji or the bench..
And in regards to Lui he is definately the reason we lost our last 4 games …

Too much Lui bagging going on here. Anyone who watched most of the under 20's last year will know how much of a talent Lui is. Lui played on the left side of the field in 20's. He just needs time to learn to play on the right side of the field (as benji plays on the left) and experience in first grade.

Neither of them are organisers who can manage a team around the park.
You put a halfback in who can actually run a team and both of these players become the greats that they have the ability to be.
You put the pressure of controlling a team, taking the right option, getting the team into the right place at the right time and running the game at an appropriate pace and they both go to pieces and do stupid things.
Last player we had who could actually control a game was Prince.

A very sensible post! If you do not have a good general to direct the team's play, you end up with the rabble the Tigers have become at times, during games.
In my view, Farrah is a very, very good dummy half, BUT he does not seem to have the cheekiness or confidence to drive the team around the field. In the games I have seen over the past few years, we seem to lose our structure and plan at times through the game. As a result we let teams back into the game or allow teams to get a lead too big to chase down.
Benji does not have the make-up to lead a team around the park.
However, they are two very good players, around whom you could build a premiership-winning team with a good organising half.
