Had Ivan Cleary not been brought in..

We can only count our lucky stars and blessings. Had he not been brought in during round 5 we would have seen the following:

- Moses sign for 1 million a season
- Woods sign for 1.1 million a season
- Tedesco sign for 1.2 million a season
- Brooks sign for 800k a season

Theres 4.1 million dollars tied up on 4 players. We have seen the best recruitment/retention in the clubs history. Bringing in McQueen, Matulino, Grub, Milne, MWZ and retaining Nofa within weeks of taking over.

We are building a great future. Only concern I have is the age of our recruits, but apart from that we are dong well.

Don't let the contract price get in the way of a good post hey Milky!!!

Really pleased with how quickly Cleary had made his mark. Feeling very positive with the direction the club seems to be heading.

No we wouldn't have Milky. None of these guys were resigning.

Even if that was the case CB. Our cap would have been spent paying overs for a few players.

Correct. But we werent signing Moses, Woods and Teddy anyway.

I accept that.

I do think however that you're right in your sentiment. If we hadn't signed Ivan we could very really be sitting on two comp points, Moses/Teddy/Woods all walking out the door and no signings for next year.

Ivan has achieved more in a month than I though he would over the next 16 weeks.

I don't think age is a problem.. 28 is fine. Should get a solid 3-4 years out of them and when contracts are finished we'll be in a good position to hit the market again.
