Harry Grant

I really hope we can find a way to keep him even though he isnt ours. Its the little things he does like always 1st in a tackle, look left with his head then dart out right and the crisp pass cut out pass to the chest of a player 10-20 meters away from the ground.

I love what Harry has done and is doing, but we bought Simpkin to be our long term hooker, the kid has big wraps on him
I for one would like to see him as our long term 9, but if we could strike a deal that sees Harry play next year and Simpkin in 2022, that would be even better.

Swap Simpkin for Grant!

No.

No. I'm sure Harry will decide his future.

Grant is amazing but if there is one part of his game that needs some work, his kicking game. From memory I can’t think of a good kick he has put in yet, mind you with everything else he does probably doesn’t even need to go for the kick.

If anyone saw Harry during the team song his left hand is clearly injured as he couldn't even clap with it or move it. Has been reportedly like that for a few weeks , makes what he is doing all the more impressive

He’s had it for a few weeks and I’m pretty they said it’s a small fracture in his hand that requires a needle prior to kick off .. hope it’s not that bad.

And he probably needs to throttle back a touch on always going himself when there's an opportunity, teams will gradually wake up to it. Every now and again a pass instead of running himself will keep the defence in two minds.

I agree to a point because the darts out of dummy half is what keeps defences in two minds, what I would like to see is the players around him seeing what he does and going with him, especially Douehi.

That will only come with time playing together but his vision from dummy half will be much more dangerous when he has a player running with him off his hip for an offload.

Just on The Footy Show. He's still reticent to say anything concrete. I wouldn't be surprised if he's here next year.

More than anything Grant presents as a easy going, level headed kid. I reckon he has got a good future ahead of him, wherever he ends up. I hope he can stay on.

It’s obviously not black and white. He seems to be loving it here. Something is definitely going on behind the scenes if he can’t confirm he’s going back.

One thing not often mentioned, if he were to utilise the clause in his contract because Smith plays on, he'd get at least $300k more for next season.

It might just be me but he always brushes off the question about going back and replies with “right now I’m 100% focussing on the tigers, whatever happens happens” sort of reply

I’m not sure if the quote about him giving Melbourne his word was from an interview or just a verbal exchange with a reporter cause I’ve never heard him actually say that if anyone can clarify

Seems like there’s a bit more to it and it’s not a certainty he’ll go back - McQueen and Farah’s money from next year should all be offered to Harry if Cam signs on

Roughly about 800k there....

Still have plenty of cap space with Reynolds, Mbye and Packer on about roughly like $2.2 million with that to be available soon
