Harry Grant

Cronk is right to the extent that the teams he played in helped to make him look good and cement his reputation. He was a very good half playing in some great teams. However, in my opinion, he was not a great half like JT.

JT did the hard way except for Origin ..
As you say Cronk had a dream run .

All that proves is Cronk's a knob happy to ride on coattails of others..

Cronk is a smart bloke and, obviously, has an interest in Grant being at the Storm or Roosters...

But you could also say 'Hey, build your own legacy. Don't be the next Cam Smith at Melb...don't go to the Roosters and try and win them 2 comps like Jake Friend did...try and lift a club like the Tigers to a couple of premierships. You will be remembered forever as a legend'.

I like Cronk...but in 20 years time the Storm probably won't even exist and will be remembered for cheating more than anything.

The Roosters will be a nothing club once Politis drops (already in his 70s). No fans. Win comps and still barely get a crowd.

Lead the Tigers to the promised land and the crowds will pour in and you will be the most popular man in footy.

That is the spiel I would give him anyway 🙂

So according to Mr Cronk all good players go to Storm or Roosters.
Bugger the rest!
Typical commentary from a stuck up $#&ck!

How much would it suck if the dogs ended up getting Grant, all because we didn't have the cap space. Ironically because we have JR and Mybe on our books...

??? We do have the cap space ? There’s like 2 million dollars coming off the books at the end of this year, also we get the 333k from the Farah debacle

Matty Johns son at Melbourne and Harry are best mates. Get them both and Matty as halves coach.

Matty always says he's a WTs fan.

Just repeating what I said on another thread regarding this ......

I love what Grant delivers. And will be sad to see him return down south. But I’m pretty sure he will go back.
In Liddell and Simpkins we are lucky to have two very skilled players under contract and I think they will do very well.
From what I have seen to date Simpkins will be the player to takes us forward long term.

My understanding is Smith is signed to the end of 2020, and they would have to sign again if he wants to play on. Is that right? I could be wrong, but if so if I was Storm I would surely decline an extension in favour of Grant who is young and already one of the best hookers. No way you would let grant go for an old fellas final year. Our only hope is if Tigers can somehow do a sneaky i'd say.

Cronk needed to play for Storm or Rorters because he needed great players around him.

Grant doesn't... he's a better player than Cronk now as far as I'm concerned.

You know what really gets me about articles like this and what opinions retired stars give about a young guy doing well...

Not once did Cronk say how well Harry is doing under coach Maguire even though he was not known at NRL level until he came to the WTs..
He doesn't consider how Harry feels about the WTs and the players he is developing a bond with..

Cronk was lucky to play in good teams...Harry came to us from a good system, but it is our system that is making him the player and person he is atm and that's credit to Madge, the club and the squad...

Was going to say the same thing. Not everyone want's to jump on a bandwagon, but rather forge something far more special and meaningful. Thurston or Ponga are prime examples of that and it's why the Tigers 05 grand-final is viewed as one of the NRLs all-time greatest moments.

Cooper showing his true colours with that statement. Is he saying that he'll be remembered with more reverence than Benji Marshall? Not in a million years Cooper.

Time to ditch Liddle and throw everything at Grant.

Even after a few games you can see Grant's the kind of bloke you can build a premiership around.

Grant said in an interview on FOX on the weekend, " I have learnt some new things which add to my game since I have been here", he was quite glowing in our training and skills work

Got love Cronk, what a goose. All the best players should sign with the Storm and the Chooks, than we can have the same two teams dominate every year and kill off the game. We badly need the talent spread so all teams can compete for the holy grail not like it is now.

Let’s face the two teams Cronk played for have done stuff all to develope young talent. I have no doubt Grant will head South at the of the season, but we don’t need Cooper Gronk basically rubbishIng our club and trying to sway him away

Bloody oath! The comp is already unfair enough without knobs like Cronk advocating for all the best prospects to head to the already strong clubs. Just because he had to play in strong teams just to achieve anything in football, it doesn’t mean the more talented players need to. Maybe he would just like to see a comp that consists of only 6 teams and we can just drop all the rest of the clubs into NRL oblivion. That should make for an enthralling competition - what an idiot!

The WT are only going to improve from this point forward. I can't wait for their COE to open next year, that will give them the best training facilities in the compactor, not to mention we have some of the best juniors coming through.

I’m reluctant to really stick the boot into Cronk cos technically he’s not “ours”. If he was and we nurtured him through the juniors, it would be a dog act.
