Man of the match again last night v salford. Will be starting for us next year

So, here's hoping he is a better player than what he showed when he was in the NRL.

Tbh I think that’s a given…he was awful in his first stint

He’s playing out of position at fullback. Been their best player all year

He is doing a great job there considering he is slower then most fullbacks and his preferred position is halves.. He is just a footy player and you can see he understands the game and loves been involved.. I think he will do wonders to our on field Leadership next year..

I remember he played a lot of full back at junior level. Very versatile. Probably not senior level though - I haven’t been paying much attention to the super league but glad he’s killing it

I'm glad he is doing well. I know other players have gone to the UK and come back better - the 5/8 from Newcastle comes to mind (almost)- can't remember his name!!! but he also played at Manly, Melbourne and the Warriors I think. So, here's hoping he is a better player than what he showed when he was in the NRL.

Corey Thompson came back a better player after his time in Super League too.

Well, it's the last time Salford fans will see Hasto play live in the UK. What a ride. But most of all what a guy, from organising a day at Salford for my youngest son Jackson, and always having time for the fans. What a player, what a guy! All the best Jacko! #31

Any worries about him being bad for culture or a bad bloke should be completely forgot about. The fans adore him his team mates love him and even Sheens said he's great to work with.

He looks very British these days.
Keen to see how he goes next year.
Good luck.

The whole "whatta guy" thing is starting to freak me out. It almost seems overdone.

Getting major J Reynolds vibes and thats not a good thing.

Only the Brooks fan boys.

I found a replay of a game in 2016 Wests Tigers v Roosters round 13 where Jacko was halfback.
On NRL.com if anyone is interested.
It really made for interesting viewing.
This at just over 20 first grade games and at 20 years of age.
Even early you see a competitive player on the field and at times was telling Jake Friend what to do in a penalty opportunity though Jake still over called him.
The stark difference between the 3 half’s is there for all to see. (Moses included).
The main difference was energy. Jacko and Moses were pretty on par. Presence. Jacko had it all over the other two. And dare I say it skill set. Top shelf. A couple of flat ball passes that put his players in spaces you saw a player even only about 20 games in know how to read the opportunities within the defensive line.
A couple of surprises were.
His speed, caught up to Tim Simona on a long break from about 10m behind him over a 50m burst. Unfortunately didn’t have the legs to finish it off.
His defence. Solid! Not Victor Radley like, but a lot like DCE, tall and wrapping. he made some solid 1 on 1 tackles and even on one Tedesco off the step to stop a sure try.

I’m very sure that after 5 more years of competitive football and 100 more top grade games / 30 nrl / 70 ESL we have got our selves a top shelf half.

Edit by that stage both Brooks and Moses 21 would have played over double the games.

Thanks for that mate, I only really started paying attention to him when he was at Salford, glad to hear some analysis of his game before that.

I really hope he is a gun player. We need a couple more.

I think Hastings is coming to play in the halves with Brooks.

I believe that to be the best option. Brooks would play second fiddle to him but with both being very good passing players, they would have more success sharing the middle point of the field rather than setting everything up with 7 first and 6 second.
If we go with this our set up will be very similar to Manly’s and Penriths halves. Where that leaves AD I’m not sure but he needs to be close to the action. I would play him like the roosters play Joey Manu.
Left Centre next to Brooks and potentially Blore and have Gildart, Right next to Hastings. Lucy will get a work out every game being next to Hastings. He will make him work hard in D.

Agree. It’s noticeable that our backline looks more fluid when Brooks p lays outside Doueihi as opposed to the reverse. I haven’t changed my mind about Doueihi from last year, his best spot is 13, but he needs to improve his defence, which he undoubtedly will over the next season or 2.

I think he could be a thirteen. But only if he wants to be, there is a lot more work in defence and attacking contact required. the playmaking side he’ll be fine plus his kicking game short to the line will benefit, however we won’t have the Cam Murray / Victor Radley style subtle footwork that makes space around the ruck. So who knows how that will play out. At this stage I think our best lock option is Joffa.

I like Joffa at lock. One of our better players.

Hopefully the kid has grown up a bit. fingers crossed as we do seem to be the Second Chance Club....
