HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

If the NRL and L&G do nothing, then HBG will continue to bring destabilisation and dysfunction to Wests Tigers, as that has been the constant under their administration. Wests Tigers will be destined to continued failure.
I can’t see any reason either the NRL and L&G will sit on their hands in regards to this.
Holman Barnes would need irrefutable evidence of their claims to negate it.
Looking at the quality of the sacked board members, and their subsequent comments regarding this, that seems highly unlikely.
Worst case scenario for them is that the NRL could take the licence off them and L&G could boot HBG directors and shut their club’s operations.

$6m Luai threat in boardroom bloodshed; Benji’s big Bula dilemma — Tigers State of Play

Wests Tigers’ messy boardroom clean-out has their CEO considering quitting and it could have a disastrous impact on their ability to retain co-captain Jarome Luai amid huge roster implications.

The joint venture club has a history of infighting between the two factions from Balmain and the Western Suburbs Magpies, and it is exactly the sort of instability that could see Luai exercise a get-out clause in his $6 million deal.

If the club lose Luai, they will have lost the two playmakers they planned on building the club around for the next five years after Lachlan Galvin’s departure to the Bulldogs.

And it is not the only roster issue the Tigers have, with star fullback Jahream Bula off-contract in 2026 and yet to reach an agreement over an extension amid links to following Galvin to the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, the club has struggled to sign star forwards with their pack looking thin, despite the arrival of England international Kai Pearce-Paul from the Knights.

And despite a massive overhaul over the past two seasons under Benji Marshall, their roster is far from settled and in need of more depth and star power to return to the finals.

Meanwhile, they have 13 players coming off-contract in 2027, so the bulk of their squad will need to be re-signed over the next two seasons, while they have just five players signed for 2028 and none beyond that.

Of the players they have signed until 2028, Api Koroisau is the lone star and is likely on his last deal, while Alex Seyfarth, Jack Attard, Javon Andrews, Kai Pearce-Paul and Starford Toa are hardly household names you can build the club around as yet.

The Tigers roster still needs a lot of work to make them a contender and if they lose Luai they may need to start again from scratch.

Your earlier point that Noisy and Leo are.being made.out as criminals is highly exaggerated.

Id.like to know a bit more about how theyre trying to right the wrongs
Fallah was being attacked on Facebook by young people who would not even know who he was or the fact he played for Wests Magpies.
He seems to have inside knowledge and stated he believes there was reason behind the actions.
Nobody has to agree with his comments, but to attack him for admitting to association with HBG from people who have no idea who he is or what he has done is a bit rich and disrespectful.
It’s been my whole argument, I totally understand almost all Wests Tigers supporters feel badly let down and are sick of the constant issues arising from HBG, that’s a no brainer and you would hope and assume PVL takes appropriate action against those at fault.
But for people to feel they have the right to criticise others without knowing the full story themselves is not on.

I'm only deducing from the events that have transpired with the WA board coups, and the director in that time that remains on both (including WT) boards. There is an apparent constant figure and assumed ring-leader in all of these events, aided and abetted by allies already within the debenture holder group.

Andreacchio, Wayde, (both member-elected at WA) and Gilbert were ousted due to being chief supporters of the independent review. Romero was ousted for supporting and implementing the review findings.

Furthermore, there were 3 debenture holder vacancies with Gilbert giving up his after wiping his hands of WA. They have since been allocated to WSDRLFC board members. So basically, the debenture holders are back to the full 20, having been topped up by the 'Make Magpies Great Again' movement. It's not unlike the Don appointing his conservative chief justices of the supreme court. It will solidify the staunch Magpie support at WA for at least another couple of decades. They should drop the charade of Barnes in the name. It's just there so they can expand their gaming empire to Rozelle.

Look, I expect the WA group to be predominantly aligned with Wests Magpies as they are the club's roots and what the club was formed to advance. But the puppet master is a staunch Magpie, and he has reinforced the debenture holder group with staunch magpies who's skill set is essentially administering WSDRLC - an organisation that does virtually nothing apart from a BBQ at Lidcombe Oval game days, and is wholly funded by WA. These guys are the new blood and next potential directors at WA who will have a huge influence on the NRL team's strategy going forward. And their loyalty and vision is aligned to the bird, not a hybrid of them and a big cat.

The only chance the NRL club has now for and end to WA meddling, and future success, is for WA to be stripped of it's license.
spot on, perfect summary

Id doubt the NRL would have the authority to make such demands...only guessing...L&G NSW would probably be the mob to do this.
The archaic debenture system is the issue as been stated many times.
Im concerned that while HBG are incompetent and amateur is that enough for the NRL to demand change
I think they may have just covered their arses enough
We shall see
The NRL can only use the licence as leverage - they can't force HBG to do anything. I think the licence is the biggest stick to beat them with because without that, Wests Tigers Pty Ltd is worth $0.

Believe it or not, the NRL holds all the cards...depends if they want to use them.

Triple M saying Richo will be forced to resign.

Todd Lubinskas has been thrown out there as a candidate. No pedigree other than being a Magpies reserve grader.

Makes sense HBG would want to go this way...install an inexperienced puppet CEO for total control.

Shocking work by HBG if this comes to fruition.
Pretty sure thats a gee-up

Triple MMM whisper of the week

any tom dick or paul can ring in and cite a rumour

I see the Mole has run with this too..I reckon someones having a good laugh

Benji Marshall as coach was a bit out there at the time too. I wouldn't put anything past these clowns.

A HBG affiliate is aligning with HBG. more to come at 6 o’clock.

Just because of their association?
If they were on the board then they would have been totally aware of what was happening.
The decision came from the board.
If you are on the board you can’t discuss the vote so are labelled as part of the decision.
If they are HBG debenture holders and not on the board it’s quite easy to make it public their own opinions.

Nope.

Not this time.

Anyone defending these actions is in the crosshairs.

Fans are done with HBG - this will not be swept under the rug. Something has to give this time.

Go get 'em.

Fallah recently became a WA debenture holder, along with the other two WSDRLFC directors who weren't already WA directors. Of course he's going to support Burgess' actions. He 'made' him!

I’m sure a good majority of WT supporters who used to follow WSM just want success for WT. The issue appears to be at HBG Board level. Anything else is just noise.
That’s true

But hey, if the club suddenly rebrands as the Magpies, that works too. I support the club in whatever form it may reveal itself

A black & white do over may not be great news for old Balmain types though 🤷‍♂️

I would like PVL to tell HBG that you get the next licence under one condition the NRL will appoint 4 independent board members

The Tigers are bringing the game into disrepute and need to clean themselves up to much bad press

The Tigers must try to become a professional at the board level

Lol you asked a question you got your answer . As usual you shift again,?you’re either dumb AF , or you’re a bad faith merchant here to undermine . I could care less
"HBG can not change the emblem. The licence is Wests Tigers and the NRL aren't going to allow that to change. Thats not my gripe - i can't stand the hypocrites on here who continually keep pushing its not a balmain vs wests thing and then in the next breath say they will walk away if there is no Balmain identity left. They are the same ones who continually abuse anyone who has the temerity to say anything good about the magpies. And yes i'm an old magpies supporter but i know they are never going to be back in the NRL. I'm also appalled at what HBG has done but level headed enough to at least wait and see how this all plays out before i rush off to buy a razor to slash my wrists. Most of my recent comments have been tongue in cheek because i am really having quite a laugh at a lot of the totally unhinged, manic and OTT rants on here."

This is what i wrote so can you please point out this imaginary question that i asked. You are all over the place.
