HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

One of them threatened Steve with physical violence earlier in the week.

I was just chatting with ink and was saying that they have tried to intimidate me to stop me going to lidcombe in the past. Had guys come up and start abusing me at lidcombe.

I still go but can't take my daughter to games there as it isn't a safe or pleasant environment for her.
Just shows how low they will go. Oxygen thieves of the highest order.

Disgraceful mate…seems the way of the world at the moment ,,,civil debates do not seem to exist anymore …

You and Steve keep safe ..

thought it was bland , and a good straight bat from a ceo , please nobody bite my head off lol.
Think there is more devil in the (non disclosed) detail why they pulled it
I thought it was a very stock standard statement.
I’d say it was pulled because he mentioned Richo had their full support. Given developments that followed re’ the integrity unit investigation, HBG are sensibly watering down that position until more is known.

So lets break this down a bit using what is out there so far:

HBG among other things publicly stated there was a lack of communication from the WT Board and some crucial decisions were made without HBG knowing about them including the the stadium strategy. This was embarrassing for HBG. - What's more embarrassing is having two members on the WT Board one of those being Chairman of the HBG board and claiming you didn't know what was happening. Further to this as has been proven on here it was public knowledge about what was being sought by the WT Board months beforehand.

An anonymous whistleblower has suddenly put in a complaint about Shane Richardson and some of his dealings particularly around the use of family members in certain areas where it is alleged they may be getting paid more or unfairly favoured. - This complaint is fine. The timing of it is what stinks. It has been reported the HBG felt he was sailing close to the wind. Is there anything wrong with that? If I'm doing 60km/h in a 60 zone then that is sailing close to the wind, it's not crossing the line and it's not illegal. It's also been reported Richo doesn't believe he has done anything wrong or concerned in any way and HBG after sacking the four Independents stated Richo had their full support.

HBG sacks the Chairman and three Independent directors for the reasons listed in the opening paragraph. - Amazingly, these four were the only ones who were responsible for anything HBG didn't like. Particularly it would seem planning for the future and turning the club around to face it in the right direction again. You would have to assume given what has transpired it must have been a voting block, which goes only two ways, either they were right as the club has shown through 2025 to be trending in the right direction or they weren't Independent which I guess if your claiming that would start to venture into legal territory. If allegedly (as has been reported) Richo and BOF were doing their own thing, then what has that got to do with the three other Independents? Why would they be sacked?

None of this makes any sense, not as a collective. If any of these things are true and I'm sure there will be some truth to some of it, then it should have been dealt with along the way, not just had a bomb put under it all at once. To me it's just further proof HBG are so far out of their depth it isn't funny. There should be no surprises I guess when you look at the governance of their own board and I hope the NRL do step in and take over. It's currently like having a relative that is no longer fit to look after themselves, someone has to start making the decisions for them as they are not capable.

Mate ..this whole thing makes zero sense from Monday afternoon when they got rid of the independents…

It’s up to the NRL to investigate now and get to the bottom like they said they were going to do …although what will happen after that I have no idea

Yeah he just could not learn to keep his mouth shut, its like he thought no one could ever say no to him so he just spread it everywhere. TBH latrell is no loss though, my brother supports souths and believes they cant be successful until he leaves.
I reckon he’ll be great in the centres for them

And that's the crux of the matter, Lestronge admitted he needs "something I can cling to".
And that's once again, a natural reaction to the possibility of losing something you love.
He and all the other Balmain aligned people are simply lashing out at anyone who doesn't have the same opinion as theirs.
Honestly there are not Balmain people left.

Never ever ever fight a red head.

Very well thought out summary. A bit of critical thinking and all of this seems pretty clear doesn’t it.
