Heath Gibbs snapped up by Tigers

I'm told that some pretty astute observers rate him highly. To the extent they believe he'll play NRL in 2018.

Good to read comments like this.
I've got absolute confidence in Ivan, particularly when it comes to identifying young talent.

Newcastle's depth is terrible and if they saw him as a potential 1st grader then I would have thought he would be spending time in ISP
Hopefully he is not another Nesbitt

Or could turn out another Addo-Carr ..All Squads have these types of signings..the current second tier aren't cutting it so not a lot of downside..

Certainly a lot better than his opponents in our 20's.

Realistically these type of signings are necessary. Our Intrust Cup and Holden Cup sides are woeful and I would suspect no more than a handful of players from both will be resigned. Some of the new lower tier players like Heath Gibbs will succeed and some won't. It is clear that we can't recycle the under performers we have in these teams now. Surely both lower grade coaches will be sacked as well.

I wonder if we will have $ left in the Cap for Woods if the Berries deal fall over.

The Berries, eh? You must go back as far as I do and I've been following Wests/Wests Tigers for 56 years when Newtown were "the Bluebags" before Jack Gibson renamed them the Jets!

I think regardless of the dramas at the Dogs, Woods will be there next year.

I was at school in the 1960's but remember the 'Berries' and 'Bluebags',Moore & Keyes would have to be one of the greatest Centre pairings in League history but ran into Gasnier & Langlands so were rated No. 2 at the time.

Mate who is a Canterbury supporter has been calling them that nearly all season, soft and squishy in the middle,no more Dogs until they start winning.

Drinkwater senior went okay in the juniors too… But...

Looks totally different to his bro try catch a reply of the under 20 knights v storm game. A lot of good juniors in the storm. Gibbs was pretty average BTW.
