I guess I'm just weighing up the fact that while Heighnington is still a very good player he has what 2-3 years left in him?
I believe we could have the next great generation coming through in the Miller, Sironen, **Spence** etc. I don't want to see them give 10 years service to Parramatta or Souths so we could keep an almost veteran backrower.
Spence shouldn't even be in the u/20s starting side, so I would hope we're not signing him to a long term deal just yet, he would need to improve a lot.
We need to keep some experienced players, and Heighington is one of our most consistent players. We can't win a comp with a team full of 20 year olds IMO.
