Will see what unfolds, if they go it wont be the end of the world, I would rather lose Heighnington than a couple of the young stars such as Miller.

Worst post of the year, lol….
Sorry champ!

I guess I'm just weighing up the fact that while Heighnington is still a very good player he has what 2-3 years left in him?

I believe we could have the next great generation coming through in the Miller, Sironen, **Spence** etc. I don't want to see them give 10 years service to Parramatta or Souths so we could keep an almost veteran backrower.

Spence shouldn't even be in the u/20s starting side, so I would hope we're not signing him to a long term deal just yet, he would need to improve a lot.

We need to keep some experienced players, and Heighington is one of our most consistent players. We can't win a comp with a team full of 20 year olds IMO.

True but there is still a great deal of experience there in Tuqiri, Utai, Marshall, Galloway, Ellis, Farah, Blair, Fulton etc.

I would prefer to see them play out their contracts. True we have some good youngsters coming through including Sirronen who could end up in the back row but he is still very young.

Maybe now that the 'brothers' bond has been broken up in favour of hard-nosed contracting, Heighno feels he is free to do the same and chase some extra coin and a better chance at playing SOO under Gould??

same don't really care if beau ryan goes but would be devo about heighno!

I don't mean to spam, but did this topic really need a new thread?

How many Chris Heighington rumour threads are their now? Can we have some consolidation of all these rumours?

Anyone else sick of the rumour mongering? By the look of it half or more of the current top 25 won't be at the club next year if all the rumours circulating were true..

WT management seem to have a lot of explaining to do.

A clean out is needed by Heightington is not one of them.

If we have only signed Blair and let 10 players go that would go down as bad management decisions.

I wonder how Blair is feeling about turning up on his first day.

NEVER A DULL MOMENT SUPPORTING WESTS TIGERS

Hi guys, ive been a lurker for a while but this has brought me out from hiding.

Dont ask for my source but i can confirm that NO chris heignington wont be released from the last 12 months of his contract nor does he want to go, i can say that adam blair is signed but he is the ONLY major signing for 2012 the clean out is for 2013 and beyond. Also i cant be 100% so dont hold me to this part but robert lui may be released at the end of the year. There are 2 north of the border clubs currently in talks with the tigers in regards to robert

At the end of the day, it's not Blair's fault so you'd hope everyone is professional and grown-up enough to welcome him warmly.

You would like to think that the club liaises with the senior players about who they are wanting to recruit. In this way the senior players are part of the decision and would accept Blair on day one. As a supporter, for what it's worth, I will support Blair if we sign him.

if Heigno leaves heads have to roll. That would make 3 players who are leaving at the end of the yr who all signed extentions before the start of this yr.Heigno,Gibbs and Payton, and it was also announced they had taken up Fifita's option of an extention.Well done Mr Humphries you certainly are a smart operater.Someone should nominate him for businessman of the yr

Absolutely.

And I would hope Blair silences any critics with on-field performance.

News just broke on "nrl gossip" that both chris heighnington and beau ryan have been linked to penrith next year, they both had a year left on their contract but have alledgedly been realeased from them. I will be soo dissapointed in the wests tigers management if infact this is true, chris is soo consistent and has been a great player for many years. There will be alot of scrutiny if infact the club hasnt signed anyone other than adam blair, if so its terrible management soo dissapointing…

Heighnington isn't going anwhere.I rekon all this speculation of Heighnington leaving is because he & Sheens where butting heads a few weeks ago but its all been sorted.

Welcome aboard SGun

Im cool with this info, I was really hoping Rob Lui would kick on, Coach Sheens has stuck his head out for long enough and I think Miller may be the Missing link…

PS - I like the name...
