im so stoked moltzen is staying, he is the best player in the team, and now our 1,6,7,9 combination will be complete with him at fullback gives him more chance to run the ball!!!

if moltzen plays fullback next year then hopefully he runs the ball back harder on kick returns, and defends better against kicks!

If Sheens was fair dinkum, he should let Moltzen leave for another club before he destroys the poor kid's career.
Moltzen is one of the WT's finest prospects and over the past 5 years i have watched Sheens ruin him.

He's a specialist half. Moreso a 6 than a 7.
With Benji at 6, Moltz was never going to take that off Marshall.
So his next best option would be to shift him to 7 and have him play a mirrored 6 on the opposing side of the ruck to Benji as a first receiver. Just as he has now done with Lui who is also a natural 6.

Please Sheens…..stop playing Timmy at centre, fullback, utility and wherever else you want him to plug!! You are better off releasing him to another club/coach who will play him in his natural position and let him shine.

For all those knocking the Moltz.....you ain't seen nuthin' yet...

If sheen plays moltzen at fullback next year then god help the tigers.

He has a year to step his game up, Willow….
A bit of state cup, mentoring, Wade McKinnon advice & he'll progress.
This is what he needs to do if he wants to succeed @ the club.
No #7 or #6, he sucks @ centre so he just has to step up as #1 and make it his own.

It is the best option for the club. Forget all the talk about his career. Teach him how to play fullback and give him a chance.

Get him on a diet of weights, heaps of food, catching high balls and cover defence. Apparently he likes fancy clothes and all the rest. Ban that stuff and tell him to man-up.

Then lets see what happens.

Everyone is writing him off. There could be a lot of egg on the haters faces.

I remember Benji copping it on here and you could see that he needed to do a couple of little things differently to get up to scratch. He did it.

Robbie as well has been up and down but last week he went away from kicking in the opposition 20 and he had a great game.

Chris Lawrence was a terrible defender.

Ellis was labelled a pillow on this forum.

Give it some time peeps.

Hhhhhmmmmmmm! Maybe running the ball is not his current problem. How about improving:-
Tackling, one-on-one.
Catching high balls.
Running the ball back with vigour.
Positional play.
Once he improves in these areas, he may be ready.

Now I've heard it all... :crazy To quote a former journo "What's that got to do with football?"

He would have to improve greatly to become a regular first grader. If the below statement is true then the club has made a very poor judgement call, the guys worth $100,000 maximum.

'Moltzen has been discussed at the Rabbitohs and Sharks but remains in limbo and is believed to be on around $300,000 for next season.' Article in the Sunday Telegraph, James Hooper 29th May.

So now here it the million dollar question . Are we keeping Moltzen for the future , Lui for the future or Miller for the future 3 into 1 doesn't fit . Moltzen would have to improve too much to become a fullback and with all our stars back he won't be 3,4 or 6 .

I have no problem with Tim staying. He appears to be a confidence player and that is something he seems to be sadly lacking at the moment. The trouble is that if the article is true and he is on 300K one would think he would have the attributes quoted by Tigers05 covered.

I don't see Tim as being a permanent number 1\. He has had a couple of very serious injuries (knee and head) and I am not convinced these are not in the back of his mind when putting his body on the line - which is needed for the fullback role.

I do seem him developing into a very, very good 14 who can cover a range of positions and have real impact off the bench especially at the back end of games where he can use his speed and ball skills to really trouble tiring defences.

I believe as soon as he sees the utility tag as being a positive and not a negative, we will see how good he can really be.

I don't think the head injury is a major issue ,but the knee is obviously still an issue either physically or mentally or possibly both and will continue to do so until end of season .

I have no real problem with him staying, hopefully as our utility player. I have a big problem if he is on the reported $300,000 as he is not worth that amount to our squad, sould be on about $150,000 under the current salary cap. If he is on $300,000 for next year get rid of him (send him to Royce in the UK if no other NRL side will take him) and spend the money more wisely.

Hopefully if sheens is grooming him for fullback, the theory behind him being in centre is to improve his defensive ability.

If Moltzen is staying and wants to play fullback put him back to the state cup at fullback and learn how to play fullback now ,he is in no way a nrl fullback and if anyone thinks so they dont know much about fullback play , he is a half nothing more ,and he will not get past Lui or Miller. I just hope St George dont use him as a speed bump today

Moltz has the potential to be the best, but he just lacks confidence. If you take a peek at his performances in 2009 you'll see how classy a player he was and then how far he could go. I'm happy he's staying but I think a few weeks in reserve grade would help him out. Gain some confidence, find some form and he'll be back up there for sure. And I highly doubt we will have any problems finding someone to fill in for him, we do have about 1000 backrowers after all -.-

300 grand a year if this is the case someone in managment should be given the flick obviously the club has been paying overs for very average talent IMO .
