Gotta laugh. Great signing, "potentially" the best signing we have had a for quite some time and yet we have pages of arguments over who was responsible for the signing. Seriously, enjoy the signing and lets hope there are more to come. Well done WT.

100 percent.

Wasn't too bad for once.
They did give the signing an A+. Was compared to a Gareth Ellis type signing for the club and a better prospective (value) signing than Finucane - who we'd offered $200K more to whilst Papali'i is in his prime. There's also some talk on Luciano Leilua.

Have to agree with those knuckleheads.
This has got to be an A+ signing for a change.
What could possibly go wrong.

Also, I hope he doesn't agitate for an early release. I lost all respect for the players who did it to us, such low-calibre brats. Having said that, if the club took the initiative to bring him over sooner, thats fair enough to me. Parra's on the ropes, lets rip a few body blows and see what might happen.

From Fox:

Quoting Sheens.

Isaiah Papali’i has signed for the Wests Tigers for the 2023 season and despite his departure there is one bit of good news for the Eels.

Papali’i has expressed no desire to leave the Parramatta side early and the Tigers are reportedly happy to see him stay and develop in the blue and gold jersey in 2022.

Regularly when a player signs a contract 12 months in advance the new club attempts to bring their star recruit over for the coming season, but not in this case according to Wests Tigers Director of Football Tim Sheens.

“It wasn’t even discussed during negotiations,” Sheens told Wide World of Sports.

“We are building towards 2023 and that is when Isaiah will be joining us - not before.”

Yeah saw that.
Good ol' Tigz... too honest for our own good...but I wouldn't want us any other way.

I don't think he's a bad player, but I must really be missing something....

So much excitement, and hes not even here till 2023.

Hope he can keep up his form next season, or it's gonna be ugly.

I think its been so long sense we got a quality player we are just all in shock and not sure how to control our emotions.
IMO I think he is a excellent pick up and for 600k I think it will end up been a great buy the eels will regret

Looks like the only signing they’re excited about. Ha ha.
Papali’i came off the bench in his last two games and had stats better than his teammates in the pack.
Eels will certainly miss his post contact metres.

Thanks, I agreed with their assessment and comparisons. A lot of good media about the WTs recently

I wonder if Sheens and Madge took a photo with Papali’i in Tigers gear. We could have done what the Dogs did before announcing his signing and “investigate leaking” of the photo. Could have definitely helped possibly getting him for 2022 😂

Foto oppurtunity was a crude attempt (just prior to street parade )by Gould to alienate Kikau from Panthers and possibly access him in 2022...a year early
Gould ALWAYS has an agenda of some sort, and always entirely self serivicing
Irony is if Kikau DID come next yr,have know idea where theyd find the extra $800k ..theyd have to fire sale 2 or 3 non essential/overpriced players..some maybe never actually getting to play in a Dogs jersey!

His explanation made no sense at all. If he didn't want the photo to get leaked then why were they taking photos in the lift? The security camera shows there was a camera man.

If he's half as good as Ellis Ill be delighted!
The big pom was up there with Sam B and John Bateman as genuine game changers/team culture changers who delivered week in /week out

I just realised the Warriors paid Niukore 650k??? The dogs paid Kikau 800k?? And we got Papalii for less than both of them... Is this the Wests Tigers we're talking about?

It's because Papalii wants to win a premiership.

Maguire link with Kiwi team, which he obviously enjoyed, endorsed by Sheens street smarts to close the deal.Outstanding pickup, which hopefully is a game changer
