I just realised the Warriors paid Niukore 650k??? The dogs paid Kikau 800k?? And we got Papalii for less than both of them... Is this the Wests Tigers we're talking

Great get by WT. Yet journos can still find a negative.

Daily Telegraph rugby league writer David Riccio tweeted: “Good get by the Tigers — but $600k a season for Isaiah Papali’i That’s more than what Victor Radley, Payne Haas, Dale Finucane, Christian Welch and Tino Fa’asuamaleaui were on this year.”

Yes and he played better than Radley, Finucane, Welch and Tino this year…

Exactly

And Haas is being seriously undervalued by Broncos

I wonder how much Parra will use him during 2022.
They can be vindictive as a club and he will be seen as a turncoat.

Don't use him
Injury free !

We want his form to be on the rise when we get him though.

Unfortunately with this signing, it means I'll need to sit through eels games now just to see how he's playing 🤢

hahaha so funny - but so true.

Have to laugh at the DT and David Riccio in particular - whingeing about players signing contracts 12 months in advance. Funny how when its the lower sides that lose players they don't give a rats and not a word is heard about how stupid the system is but when its teams like Parra and Penrith that get raided by sides like tigers, dogs and warriors they scream that the system is wrong. riccio even suggests clubs should sack them early.

Pretty sure he stuck the boot into us for "overpaying" for papali'i the other day on twitter.

If Parra sacked Papali’i early I’m sure we could help him get onto the next chapter in his career

Hopefully gets out early!!!

Judging from Parra’s press release, he wants to honour the final year

It’s a shame the way the rules work. As a fan when a player signs it should be for the upcoming season

The Free Papali'i movement is having their first protest at Parra Leagues Club at 5pm Tuesday if anyone is available.

The only way that Parra are going to release Papali'i is if the need his cap money to re-sign one of their other priorities players.

Which won’t happen. He’s on 150-200k, almost bare minimum. Even if they release him, they have to replace him with someone on a similar wage. They virtually have zero incentive to release him given they won’t find anyone near him for the money he’s on.

@Cobarcats

Some crossfit action or a young Isaiah.
Guy has had some serious strength.

As a 15-year-old, he won two gold medals at the Oceania Power Lifting Championships in New Caledonia after lifting 105kg in the snatch and 125kg in the clean and jerk.

This guy is so well coordinated. He moves across the ground like a muscle bound pit bull.

Watching Papali’i against Melbourne knowing he will be at the Tigers next year makes me feel better about the mess we’re in this year. We need a big body like him to steam in and barge through. He has some speed as well for a big bloke. He and Stefano will be a damaging duo in 2023.
