I thought all contracts contain this clause.I thought NRL contracts no longer have cooling off periods. I think they removed it to stop players back flipping.

Buckets?I found Sheens’ comment interesting..following the signing of Papali’i he told Eels we’re not going after anymore Eels. Why would he say that? I know other clubs were looking at Eels players at the time.
So sick of all this talk about players backing out of moves for 2023.
It's all manager led BS to agitate for their clients, contracts a contract.
It's not just us, Titans have signed Foran as there marquee for 2023 and there is rumours he now wants to backflip and stay at Manly.
IP, Foran and Kelma should all be made by their new clubs to honour their contracts and that's that. If any club rolls over and allow their signings out of their contracts it just gives more power to greedy player managers.
The problem is Parra know that we roll over every time. We did it wirh Moses, and we did it with matterson. But if you remember they wouldn’t give us Stef a year early. The ball is in our court. We signed Papi and have let go garner, tulagi and leiluia since. The club would be crazy to entertain and thoughts of allowing him to get out .Heard today from someone at Parra he definitely wants to get out, but there is no clause in his contract that allows him to get out of it.
This is going to continue to play out until he either gets out of the contract or turns up at training.
WTs punched above its weight in signing Papal'i'i and Koriseau. That is the salary cap working. So sick of all this talk about players backing out of moves for 2023.

From time to time a little bit of mail comes my way so here it is boys.
Ice has no intentions in coming to the tigers it’s looks as though the tigers are resigned to the fact he’s not coming it’s looking like we will get Nathan Brown, the reason Nathan Brown is on the nose at the slimers is beacause he was part of the leadership group at Parra who spoke up against playing BA son at 5/8 and shifting Dylan Brown to the centres after he challenged the coach on that he’s been on the outer ever since.
Parra is extremely confident Ice will be staying with the eels, although my source could not confirm the contract he signed it may have a get out clause in regards to the head coach.
As for the real reason Tim Sheens was appointed head coach was because no one wanted the job, it was even offered to Paul Green who turned it down and Mick Potter.
When Benji called Ice to see gauge on where he stood at no time did Ice confirm he was coming to the tigers.
Lets hope I’m wrong on this one….
Not in the NRL anymore - as per nrlsurvivors post.I thought all contracts contain this clause.I thought NRL contracts no longer have cooling off periods. I think they removed it to stop players back flipping.

This is becoming so common place lately and yet the NRL doesn't say a word. They whinge about the power of player managers then let them get away with agitating for players to backflip. If VLandys could pull himself away from defending dickhead referees and stop counting all the money from betting agencies in his spare time maybe he would have the time to get off his arse and take a stand against managers, clubs, players and the media constantly agitating for players to break legally binding contracts. So sick of all this talk about players backing out of moves for 2023.

NRL, RLPA agree to scrap cooling-off periods
Players switching clubs will no longer be able to have a change of heart after signing on the dotted line, with the NRL and RLPA agreeing to scrap the controversial 10-day cooling-off period for new contracts.www.nrl.com
It is no longer specifically written into the NRL Contracts, but it is Contract Law that Contracts have a cooling off period, whether expressed or not. It doesnt matter what is written into a Contract with respect to cooling off periods becaus eyou cant Contract outside the law. Court tested law.![]()
