@ said:@ said:Im probably wrong with what I'm about to say and i don't like what's going on one little bit but here goes
Wouldn't it be funny if IC never ever had any intentions of ever going back to Penrith
The problem being NC sees himself as having unfinished business at Penrith with his mates
Both IC and NC work on getting the best deal they can for NC at Penrith with a clause regarding IC future
Once NC has agreed to the deal IC than recommits to tiger's
When NC goals at Penrith are reached he joins his dad at tiger's
Unlikely but would be nice just to see gus played for the fool
It is no more fanciful than some of the other propositions being put forward.

Sadly I feel the fools that are being played are us.
@ said:I really think we should stay strong on enforcing Ivan's contract for the next 2 years, call Gus's bluff and give him the option of hiring a new coach in 2020 or firing Ceraldo after he has enjoyed a year with his players and staff. We always only had the terms of Ivans contract so its business as usual and if Ivan does not commit for 2021 and beyond we have the time to source a new coach in our time NOT Gus's

Yoss - Really respect your insight as you know.
Im not sure Reynolds Would have /Will add that much to us when fit next year.
Our Fwds are still not formidable enough IMO
Don't get me wrong - we have many faults. But based on results we're not far off. A 14-10 season is usually solid top 6\. All I'm saying is that on that basis we're shouldn't be a no go for recruits. It's not like we need massive changes just selective tweaking.
We need back row metres. Taylor and Eisenhuth don't cut it. Some of the defence in the Souths game would have been embarrassing at Schoolboy level.
Packer started well but faded. Matulino was the opposite. Clearly we're a prop down. Twal is solid but developing. There needs to be someone else to come off the bench.
We need a centre who can defend. Fonua has the attitude but not the smarts. Marsters looked great at times but poor and his low points.
Long story short we have too many tryers and not enough dynamism.

@ said:Simply if Ivan does not agree to extend his current deal with the club he WILL NOT be the head coach for 2019\. Everything should be finalized one way or the other prior to pre-season, but this is affecting recruitment big time & has already cost us one signing.

But why is there the desire to extend him ?
He’s an average coach !

More of Gould attempting to up the pressure on the WTs. Same message, different face.
That was my immediate thought as soon as I opened the article. Nothing to see here folks.

At least the club is being proactive i suppose.
Was the player we missed out on a decent signing?
If Ivan goes i suppose the obvious replacement would be madge … assuming he wants to come here. I'm just not sold on him for some reason. The game has changed alot since he won the prize with Souths, and his game plans and strategies are no longer effective. Hope i am wrong about him, but if its a toss up between Cleary and Madge, then i go with Ivan the Terrible.

He has the backing of the players & all have bought into the culture & attitude he's created. Another coach no matter who it is will create instability at 1st. Improvements this year were shown & the club dose not want to upset that. Cleary's reputation has & will continue to take a hit until this is settled.
