I think JAC is just like LM and after seeing him on channel nine , where lied about signing a heads up contract , I don’t want him , I think both have played us for there own pleasure

Yea ..... time to close down this thread.
Let’s look at some realistic long term signing options ...l and JAC is just not one of them.

Agree....If he wanted to come here he would be in the process of signing even if it's just for 2022 on wards that way the Storm know where he stands. It's not like we are offering him unders ... we have offered him excellent money and more if he makes FB his spot that he so desires.. He will not get the same or even near our money at Souths so he would be sacrificing a lot of money to "Play with mates".. (or cheat and get money on the side like Souths do)

As I said previously you can always set the thread to ignore, then you’ll never see it.

How do you do that Mike

Would love to do it to certain threads

If we only signed players who only talked to WT and didn’t explore their options I think we would fold as a club lol. It doesn’t happen, everyone talks to multiple clubs footy is a business

Akin me to a jilted lover if people must, but if JAC signs with Souths, it means all the fullback noise was just rubbish designed to get him more money, so it puts a big hole in his integrity as well.

But hey, who knows, he may still end up with us.

Imagine if after all this we end up signing Dallin or Moylan (or both).

They are the type of signings I will judge the club harshly on.

I think it’s more how ‘Rutheless’ melbourne are here, if there is a lesson to take out of al this.
Having that sook Matterson in our side this year may of just pushed us into the 8. Not to mention would of made of us a lot stronger going into next season.
And it’s always said JAC is being a good sport his honouring his deal and not making a fuss, maybe that the mindset Melbourne have managed to get into their players.
There is no way JAC should be in my opinion playing for Melbourne in 2021 ‘if he legitimately has a family reason’ but yet it seems like he is...

Having Matterson would have meant we had no AD or big Lucy as we would not have had the cap space

Might be true. In some respects.
Matolino’s retirement and masters led to getting BJ and AD and big Lucy could of been signed instead of of BJ who knows.
Could also say that us not signing AD would of led to Souths not signing Latrell.
I think your missing the point.
Point is, is Melbourne a better team without JAC?
Were we a better team without Matterson?

Simply go to the top of the thread under the OP you will see watching..click on that you have the option of not watching which means you will still get notifications if you have posted in the thread but it won't appear in recent topics or ignore..and you will reveive nothing or see it..

I don't think that the heads of agreement has anything to do with him actually coming to the club, moreso the agreeing of the dollar figure and the fullback clause. it's not legally binding, if anything it's to lock in figures so WT know how much they have to play with cap-wise if he joins us.

as for him joining us, you only have to read between the lines to see that Bennett is trying to clear the decks so Souths can afford him. Roberts and Allan's departures should free up enough space for them to do so. if they can't get him for 2021, they have a massive amount of money for 2022. the longer this goes on the worse it gets for us, simple as that.

Josh Addo-Carr says he wants to be in Sydney in 2021 - but has stopped short of declaring he will join the Wests Tigers.

It emerged over the weekend Addo-Carr had signed a heads of agreement with the Tigers and would play for them next season if he was granted an early release by the Storm.

The Tigers are still seen as the front-runners for his services with their four-year deal the best on offer.

But when asked about the heads of agreement with the Tigers after NSW Origin training on Monday, Addo-Carr paused and said: "Next question. I'm not answering that.'

Pressed on his desire to return to Sydney for family reasons, rather than see out the last year of his contract with the Storm, Addo-Carr said: "Everyone knows what I want to do. Everyone knows I still have one more year there. It's a tough decision.

"There's not much I can do - if we don't get the player swap, it won't happen. 'There are no issues [with the Tigers]. No matter where I go, I feel like I can teach the younger players coming through, just with my knowledge and experience - wherever I go it doesn't bother me.''

Addo-Carr is a South Sydney junior and still has a lot of friends at the Redfern club, including Blues teammate Cody Walker, whom he made a point of praising for his final-round effort against the Sydney Roosters ''as one of the freakiest performances I've ever seen''.

Souths have repeatedly distanced themselves from signing Addo-Carr, but in recent weeks the club have since started to shop Corey Allan - while James Roberts remains long odds of seeing out his lucrative deal in 2021.

There is nothing stopping Addo-Carr signing with Souths for 2022, tearing up any heads of agreement with the Tigers and then sweating on the Storm and Bunnies striking up their own player swap that would still allow Addo-Carr to be in Sydney next year.

Wayne Bennett also enters the final year of his contract at Souths and knows his best chance of landing a premiership with the club will be slightly easier with Addo-Carr in his side.

Melbourne continue to hold out hope for either Tigers' flyer David Nofoaluma or even centre Tommy Talau to make the Addo-Carr deal happen. The Tigers have already made it clear neither player will be released.

Storm football manager Frank Ponissi expects Addo-Carr to be in Sydney in 2021 and says finding a suitable replacement has become a priority

The Storm on Sunday officially started paying Addo-Carr's wages for next season, and are understandably in no mood to keep picking up the tab for a player wno won't feature in their immediate plans.

Of greater priority to the Storm, however, is the signature of halfback Jahrome Hughes.

"Jahrome wants to stay and while negotiations are in the early stages both parties are confident a deal can be reached,'' Ponissi said.

Meanwhile, Addo-Carr spoke about the ''goosebumps'' he had when Stan Grant addressed the playing group via a Zoom video and spoke about his passion for NSW and his tough up-bringing.

"Sharing those things he went through in his childhood, what his father went through, it was good to share with the boys,'' Addo-Carr said. "Some of those things don't get taught in schools. It was good to get an insight into what things go on in indigenous communities.''

JAC won’t be at the club. Wayne grub Bennett has change his mind and will have cap space for him. JAC did agree to terms with tigers but now backfliped.

Hey you caught up.

I wonder what they're going to do now. There's not a heap of available talent out there at the moment but geez I don't want us to be spoon contenders.

We won’t get the spoon. The same Rugby League Gods that keep us coming 9th year after year also ensure we never get the spoon.

It’s a strange dichotomy, but that seems to be the rules.
