Let's see if he can get out of his current contract first.
Then see how much the transfer fee is or what they want in return.
Personally hope Wigan keep him for the next ten years.
Spot on Russell. I don't want Hastings anywhere near the WTs.
You two happy to see us struggle every week because we have a dud halfback?
Oh, he’s a local junior... that changes everything.?
If you believe Hastings is the answer, the wrong question is being asked to the wrong inidivdual.
I rewatched his “highlights” in the super league
Seriously he’s as slow as a wet week and some of the defense he was up against reminded me of us on the weekend
Mitch Moses 2.0 with even less talent
Maybe what you should be looking at is why does Maguire want him in the team?
He is not an idiot.
Could it be the things that dont show up on highlight reels like game management and a good kicking game.
Things we desperately need and dont have in the building.
47 games in the NRL and showed diddly squat
One was at a club that had the incumbent NSW halves to learn his trade off & coming off a grand final win
He’s been killing it in the super league, like most NRL outcasts do and people here think he’s the messiah
I suggested in another thread we should look at young talent stuck at powerhouse clubs - who knows, we might get another Daine Laurie / Harry Grant hungry for a crack
Ive already mentioned we should sign someone like a Ronald Volkman, i agree with the youth policy.
Watching Hastings highlights with an open mind i can see he is a tier or two above Brooks in
pass selection-
pass timing-
reading the play -
ball distribution/ bringing those around him on to the ball -
natural footballer - eyes up and in the moment
Ill take that over a guy who has done diddly squat in 150 games.
It’s easier to execute pass selection/timing etc when the line speed of the opposition is of super league standard. That’s the outlier here
Watch the staggered lines and weak first up contact in the videos. Some of them are just basic short passing to blokes at pace and crashing over the line
Now I’m not supporting Brooks, patience is wearing me thin but he has shown those facets of play at NRL level. not this year or last year, but years prior.
That is why our opponents look so good. No commitments or speed in defence. Have a look at how we ball watched last week as guys ran across field, backwards and any direction except forward. Move up as a line and shut the ball down.
It is not rocket science
