It was actually Bunny Reilly picking him up, Ronny Coote and Bill Mullins were with them

Josh Reynolds getting man of the match in his 1st game tells you everything you need to know about the quality of super league

Do we still think Hastings is the answer?

He was man of the match for us in some of the few games he played.
Answer is still yes.

Jackson....Hastings?

Having trouble with comprehension?
Reynolds was man of the match for us a few times in the limited games he played... but wasn’t the right type of player for our team.
Just because Brooks doesn’t throw us under the bus in one game doesn’t mean we should trust him to be able to do it all year.
Hastings at worst keeps pressure on him.

You’re using the same excuse we have been using for Brooks lol

So what type of half fits our team? It’s not Brooks obviously, Reynolds wasn’t the answer either

It’s Jackson Hastings?

This will fall on deaf ears but I thought our halves kicking game was our strong point yesterday. Hopefully something to build on

I think that Doehi is the perfect foil for Brooks and what's more has the temperament to settle Brooks much better than Hastings ever would. I think it's about a 25/1 chance on Hastings coming to Wests Tigers.

I think Jackson Hasting is Tigers 2016-2018 thinking and would not be a good match for us.

If Brooks is not the man for the job, sign either an established (in NRL) half that is better (who? A Reynolds?) or a kid that is going to get there like a Valkman or Walker (nochance). "Settling" for a Hastings is not the way to turn this club around.

The only other way Hastings makes sense is if they're prepared to let Liddle go to make way for Simpkin and see Hastings as a versatile bench player who can spell him or the halves as backup. I just think he's too similar (and not as good as) to AD.

Hastings himself has already come out and said reports of him coming here are rubbish, so why are we still talking about it?

I think he said "Don't believe everything you read"
He was probably refering to his own post when he said that
He will most likely be here when some kind of compensation can be worked out
And if we get done by Newcastle it will happen very quick at a guess

Should we even believe his post? I’m confused

Yeh agree with Ink and Lauren.
You sign these blokes when you're desperate and you end up stuck with them for 3 years or more on too much coin.

Is he that much better than Brooks, Mbye, Madden, Doueihi and Laurie? Id have him in the middle of that bunch based on his first NRL stint.

What's the solution? Fortune favours the brave.

I see your point but reactive decisions are usually poor decisions

It is not reactive, they have been in talks trying to get him for quite a while, Brooks poor form was there too see last year, thats why talks started preseason

so whats the hold up?
The season began three weeks ago
Amateur hour
seriously....7 is the key position and were ready to throw the baby out with the bath water 3 weeks in....lets start all over again and give the rest of the comp three/four/five weeks start....and the think someone mentioned "the epitome of proffesionalism"

I said this before - going off early? No confirmation Hastings is coming and even if he does come, the only comment from the club we have is Tigers would think of playing him lock.

So nothing at all, at this time, to suggest Hastings will definitely be here or is coming specifically to replace Brooks.

Why the hold up? Hastings is not off contract, it's been said a dozen times already. He would need to be released by Wigan; Hastings was in Australia at Christmas and Wigan compelled him to return to UK to fulfill his contract. Tigers were interested but it didn't go anywhere at the time because Wigan weren't interested in a release.
