Jacob Liddle #198

Brittle Liddle
Honest compeitor, but just may not be built for NRL
And If we thought he was our future,we wldnt have signed Api for next 2 years.
His injury gives Simpkins a huge opportunity to step up and lets see what hes got..
And if not,we move straight to Rua as the next 9 in waiting
If u want a spine NRL slot, youve gotta earn it on the field with perfirmances..not by just remaining uninjured(sorry Mrs Liddle)

Rua can't cover he isn't contracted to the NRL side.
When injuries hit to spine players then development players can get called up. Not sure if same applies to train and trial contracts.
If not we could upgrade him to a development contract for the rest of the year and chuck on an nrl contract for 2 years on top of that. Would be a very smart thing to do

4 to 6 weeks not that bad

Just an observation. He is built like a couple of chopsticks. Looks like a boy out there amongst men. Even Mitchell Moses the stick insect managed to bulk up yet Liddle looks fresh out of high school.
Liddle looking larger this year I thought Mitchell been in grade longer

He bulked up last offseason he stopped bouncing off tackles

Liddle would have missed twice as many games as he has played since coming into grade. Poor kid can’t get a decent run injury free. Big opportunity for Simpkin

I'm not overly rapt in peaches delivery, I've watched a lot if his games since his signing and he's best suited to roaming.
Rua on the other hand gave some beautiful passes from dummy half but fear he might not be able to play big NRL minutes.
Jake is also finding his way back into first grade.
We'll be ok.

Rua's name - Isn't in our squad...
How does anyone think he's playing at some point.
Rua this, Rua that.... He's not in the squad yet - Might as well throw Cameron Smiths name up...
Train and Trialists can play after Rd10... (That's if he's even still here)
Comps all but over for us by then if we don't get a good start.

Jake's a long way off...

My preference is to upgrade Rua and get him to play 10-15 mins both sides of HT.

He may not be able to play big minutes but is explosive and has a running game that will keep opposition defences on their toes.

Also leaving the 30th spot empty when it’s basically a free for all after round 10 seems counterproductive if 1 of 2 specialists are injured for approx half that time.

Although, I gotta say it would be rough to debut vs Storm so could understand if they opted to promote Madden/Peachey to the indirectly fill that void

Damn that sucks. Good luck with rehab. If it's a partial, he may be back in 4 weeks so we might still be able to see him get to his best through the year.

This could also mean we see Madden in 14 or roll with 4 forwards (incl Peachey).. that means guys like Musgrove/Seyfarth/Joe O can fight it out.

I’m not the biggest fan of Liddles but this injury could have a massive bearing on how we start the season. I had high hopes for Simpkin but he is just a kid who isn’t ready for 80 minutes. I don’t know if we can put madden in at hooker and have him defend in the halves and have brooks defend at hooker.
Whatever the case I hope for a speedy recovery.
