Jahream Bula #269

I didn’t hear it but agree that’s very unprofessional. Gus is normally an advocate for the Tigers too. Probably has some sort of agenda now - might have Stef or some others in his sights.
The talent pool is shallow. This is what happens when Redcliffe are allowed into the comp. Although they will produce their own, they won't immediately and the Storm and Roosters never have and never will. Until this changes it will always be the same.

Gould the fkn prick saying he would love to see Bula at a better club and hopes it’s not detrimental to his career. What a fkn bunch of bs this shit show NRL is. Gould the fkn prick should be banned from commentating while he’s a football team manager.
What difference does it make if Gus says it?
Anyone who’s a footy fan that watches our games says it - or in the least is thinking it…

About most of our kids

Gheez our fans are some tough critics sometimes. You got people thinking that because an 18 year old Galvin doesn't have a 10/10 game every week he's not as good as he thinks he is & should be sent to reserve grade & now because Bula who's only played 30 games in his career isn't at the level of prime Billy Slater he's not good enough to be our fullback. I remember in 2019 Penrith fans were begging for Edwards to be dropped saying he'll never be good enough & now he's the best FB in the comp.
Great post

And when Titans scalped the post-premiership Tigers in 2007.

Come on! We had a 3 man overlap and Sezer absolutely butchered it. 12 point turnaround. Game over.

P.S You will note their backs took the opportunity presented to them.
Agree
That was butchered,
and unfortunately we don’t get enough opportunities to butcher any.
Watch the difference in the force of their forwards hit ups and play the ball speed to our forwards.
No wonder our backs get minimum opportunities.

To be honest, I thought all 3 of their backs were offside when that intercept was taken. I must have been wrong because it was not picked up by the linesman, referee or bunker.

True. The last 6 weeks he has been good. Looks confident and wants to be involved. Sezer as well is another player doing a lot better than most in our team.
went to the roosters game and he looks like a player waiting to be unleashed. He is always in good positions (around the ruck or on both edges) but the coaching and structures don't seem to include him in set plays. He's very dangerous when running the ball and not focusing too much on passing

The energy in the forwards will naturally dip when you always fail to take your early scoring chances and then the game evolves into an old fashion dicking.

No doubt many of our forwards know that our backs don’t cut it in the NRL. Our second best backline player is a kid on L plates.

Hey BAGNF05
I think we are on the same path ,
Backs & Forward not good enough 😂

Flyweight fullback Jahream Bula has revealed for the first time how he has battled anxiety through the early stages of his NRL career as he looks to help Wests Tigers avoid a third-straight wooden spoon.
Across a grim period for the Tigers, 22-year-old Bula has been one of the standouts in the No.1 jersey over the last two seasons.
While last week's last-gasp loss to South Sydney was a gut punch for the Tigers, the sight of Bula and fellow youngsters Lachlan Galvin and Tallyn Da Silva ripping through the Rabbitohs defence should give coach Benji Marshall reason for optimism.

Bula's free-flowing style on field is in contrast with his softly-spoken manner off it.
And he says his naturally reserved persona is in part because of the mental health issues he has encountered on his journey to the NRL.
"I do struggle with anxiety, I get anxious," Bula told AAP.
"It's not wanting to leave the house, not wanting to socialise, I'm a shy person.
"For me personally it's a spiritual thing, I'm a faith-based person and (I'm about) being connected to my creator.
"When I'm not reading the word or not praying consistently that's when I get anxious, when my connection with God is starting to fade away ... but when I come back to him I feel at peace."

As well as his faith - Bula reads a different verse before each game - the young fullback credits Tigers welfare manager Feleti Mateo for helping him fight his demons.
Bula has one of the most diverse backgrounds in the NRL, having been born in Auckland, raised on the Gold Coast and boasting Fijian, Samoan and Indigenous bloodlines.
The fullback is relishing the chance to return to New Zealand on Friday to face the Warriors where his uncle Hitro Okesene has cult hero status.
"I actually haven't met him before," Bula said of his mother's brother, who has settled in Cumbria since retiring.
"I loved footy growing up (in Auckland), that was pretty much all we had … I have lots of good memories of growing up there."
Bula is eager to return home and show he, Galvin and Da Silva can continue to stoke the flames of a Tigers revival.

"We've shown a lot of good signs and our attack was especially good," Bula said.
"I'm just trying to hang around them and get the ball, that's the easy part, they do the hard part for me."
