Jahream Bula #269

Because Fulton said something doesn’t make it true… I doubt anyone is going to publicly take ownership for that decision…I’ll bet he didn’t admit to wanting to pay Schuster $1.2m a year either, which we are led to believe Benji actually prevented …also…who was the final decision maker on how much to pay for Sullivan ? I’m going to say that was ultimately Pascoe as he had the responsibility of the salary cap…
Id say it didn't help his relationship with Benji as soon as he tried to get Schuster over - exactly what we didn't need

So she was pushed because of the salary cap? 🤔

What does 'no cap' mean?

"No cap" means "no lie" or "for real", according to Dictionary.com. "Cap" is another word for lie, so "no cap" emphasizes when someone is being truthful. If someone is "capping," they are lying.

The phrase is rooted in African American Vernacular English (AAVE), or Black speech separate from standard English. As early as the 1900s, "to cap" meant to brag, exaggerate or lie about something, according to Dictionary.com.

Taking this into account, he is saying that it's a lie, total bullshit if you like.

as much as we have had it tough, imagine the ansgt if we had signed Schuster on elite level money....no disrespect to the man himself but clearly NRL doesn't seem to be for him at this point.

Agree Fulton could well have been talking rubbish but that was said before Sullivan proved to not work out here.
He also said Schuster could have been signed for less than he was on at Manly (seems plausible given his mates were leaving Manly and he ended up at Souths for much less) but again who knows how much truth to the statement. Schuster was reportedly on 800K at Manly so not sure why the forum likes to push the 1.2mil narrative. History suggests Benji was most probably right but again who knows? The talent is there.

Like a lot of things with this club ..we’ll never know the full story about Bud …reminds me of what went on this year at Souths regarding Lewis Dodd…. Success has many fathers, but failure is an orphan so they say…

I’ll say that Benji likely ticked off on Bud , but the contract negotiations ( number of years and amount) were probably with Fulton and or Pascoe …i don’t see Benji on the blower haggling with his manager ….there is plenty of blame to go around with such a terrible decision that will probably end up costing them well over seven figures on the cap… and here other people are maximum handwringing over whether to pay Bula an extra $100k for 1 year
