That is the worst thing he could do.It is a team game and you need to play as a team to do your best.He is not in under 7s anymore
He is leading try scorer in reggies because he backs himself. The best dummy in the game is Adam Cook when he backs himself and runs. Harry grant is most dangerous when he runs. If all we want from our dummy half is to pass the ball then let’s get Liddle back in there.
You have a point, Damien Cook played extremely well around the ruck against the Titans and was the main Catalyst for getting the Rabbitohs into the game.
But something with us, our forwards take forever to play the ball. We have 2 running hookers that find plenty of space and time to play out of dummy half in the lower tiers but into first grade and there is just no opportunities.
Liddle was crucified by all and sundry for picking the ball up at the ruck and having a go at the markers before distribution other than just passing and now we want Simpkin to do the same thing and not just pass off the ground.
The team and spine are all learning how and when to take a quick ball out wide for a shift play and when to take an opportunity to force a push through the ruck. It’s not just our hookers we need forwards pushing up hard on the inside. Twal should be running the Chris Heighnington suicide line back against the grain and behind the markers and we should be able to play with a bit more speed off the back of that.
Having Simpkin or Liddle run after nothing being generated by our forwards is just going to lead to more crunch tackles like the one he received be Sua.
