James Tedesco Signs with Roosters [Official]

Happy - the players are leaving for money. That is a rational economic decision for them and the club to make.

Everyone is a winner here. I mean offering Woods a cent over $400k to me is overpaying the guy. If he can get double that at the Dogs he should go.

Yes we let go of Blair and that was probably okay as well. We overpaid the guy.

Don't worry , when the new recruits don't stay on after their contracts expire and we don't make the semis again we can blame them as well and sack Cleary

The circle of life hey , you gotta love it

Yet the club will stay the same , same old factions , same old issues and no one will put 2+2 together

God I wish the real world existed like that , wish I could fall asleep at the wheel of the business I manage :roll

This place is insane :crazy

Happy some of that doesn't make sense to me, maybe you can clarify or maybe i have read it wrong. You say the club took ages to compensate Teddy for his knee injury, does that mean that the player pays for the operation and rehab then invoices the club to get the money back? I just would never believe that. If that does happen then whoever is responsible should be shot.

If all that is true why did he stay last time?
If offering a guy a million or more a year to play footy isn't a sign of respect then I don't know what is.

I'm guessing happy has flipped his lid because he has confirmation teddy is gone. Same thing happened last time from memory.

I have a lot of time for Happy, his knowledge and humor are great. However, in this current negotiation I don't blame the club.

It can be this easy - here is the money, we think you're our future and this is the best we can do. Do you want to stay?

That is a yes or no question that Teddy or any of the others could have answered months ago.

Agree. If he is upset with things that happened 3 and 4 years ago there is nothing anyone can do about that.

If he still feels that the same issues are continuing then the answer is pretty simple and he and the club need to move on.

I'll be disappointed, but i've stuck with the club through worse.

I'd said it at least 5 times now , it's not the fact players are leaving , it's why players are leaving

Look at all our QUALITY recruits from outside the club , very few have stayed until the end of their careers

Don't you ask yourself why they don't …...

Why did a guy like Halatau come back? Why did payten want to come back and coach? Why did Lawrence restructure, surely he could have got the same or more for an easier gig in England? The mail that JAC was trying to reneg on Melbourne was pretty strong, although never verified. Why did Elijah Taylor come mid-season and take the bull by the horns to make sure he could stay. Why did Farah fight tooth and nail to stay. There are many examples on both sides of this argument mate. And the icing on the cake for me, why did Teddy reneg, if the club was run by Satan, and had Hitler as chairman of the board and Mussolini as coach, why did he turn his back on more money from the Raiders to stay?

One of the reasons many leave (apart from historical management issues, which I agree with you, weren't good) is because more of our cap was wrapped up in potential rather than actual ability. We wouldn't keep previous 5/8s because of Moses, we couldn't keep a guy like tapau because Manly were willing throw everything at him.

At the end of the day, you are accusing people of knowing one side of the story, and then you go and post one side of the story. I thought you didn't like leaks, but you are giving away a lot of info the average fan isn't privy to to prove a point that is ultimately self-defeating.

Foran? How could you trust him mentally as a player
Johnson is Benji Marshall 2.0
Dugan also off field dramas and always injured
Widdop, -where going off a good first 6 weeks here before that his team couldn't score trys

so yeah the free agents list isn't as good as people think

I'd have Johnson any day of the week.
Widdop…ditto
Dugan...no
Foran...wont happen...dogs or knights for him.

Really dont agree with your descriptions except Dugan...

Sorry but Johnson is just another Benji masrhall will play awesome and only turn up evey now and then, he is rocks and diamonds and can't close out games

This team has not had anyone close out games since Scott Prince. that's why we choke a lot we don't need another Benji marshall 2-0 where a player can get us wins but also get us loses

For starters, I don't know why you are bringing up external recruits, none of these players under discussion are external. Internal recruits move on all the time, it doesn't mean any one thing. E.g. Inglis, Folau, Cronk, Tohu Harris, Proctor, Blair, Koroibete, Kimmorley, McLean, Fonua, Hoffman, Widdop.

But on external recruits, the lack of career-finishing contracts is an indicator of club health? Well you could argue these are the hardest players to keep, because they either came for the money or a chance to start FG, so they are a good chance of also leaving for money or not getting enough of a shot.

I could easily go through any team and find a load of external recruits who did not see out their careers with that club. So easy I won't even bother doing it to make my point.

I feel like I'm working on a lifeline service or something similar. It's nowhere near as bad as what you are trying to make out.

Take a step back, go and have a coffee (but not too many) and relax. I can't believe how good this is all turning out for us. I might be over the top but it's definitely not that bad,

Roosters entire backline off contract.

Skd, toops, gordan, fergo….

They got lots to sort out

1\. Teddy
2.
3.
4\. Latrell
5.

Gaps to fill

But it is everything

Who wants to deal with the politics that runs this dinosaur of a club

Who the hell would want to have to play at three home grounds

Have a club that is resigned to having to rely on local juniors and can't attract talent and pins its hopes on "potential" year after year

We have money and good players will come to the club. Cleary we know has a history of rebuilding clubs and we are in good hands. Management have done everything possible to retain our big name players.

Yeah they are tearing hinges off the doors down trying to get a work out at the gym at Concord aren't they Paws …

Lined up all the way to the Qld and Melbourne borders

Don't despair, many deals will be done when the salary cap squeeze commences. I follow the club, not one player and some of our supporters need to get things into perspective.

Good to see you have left Robbie behind at the Redfern bus stop and got back on board.

Wait a second….I left this on page 100 come back.. .How did the Tedesco contract thread become about happy..

Anyone who thinks losing Tedesco can be a good thing or what's he done to get this team anywhere is.. :crazy

yeah course it is about me ….. :imp:

As I said before and last night , don't like it Foe me

And if the Mods don't like it , well they know what they can do about it :bulb:

You haven't broken any rules Happy so just relax mate.

it's a well known fact the Roosters know how to attract star players, Brad Fittler $BW Craig Wing Anasta (at the time he was a star) should I list more?? They just know how to make the moves.

from reading that Teddy signed with them April 12 that should be announced Friday ? great just before the dogs game

You can't win the comp without star players, that is why the storm are up their every year along with Broncos and roosters and Manly.

all those taling about raiders and panthers// well sorry the panthers 5 year plan is in year 7 aint working.. and the faiders will never get to a grand final because they simply don't have star players. and their defense is crap they have to score 30 points to win a game. they will be found out by teams like the roosters and storm

Would be close **of business** on Monday 1st May if he did in fact sign on the twelfth as there are three public holidays and thus three weekends that stretch it out. It is ten full business days, not simply ten days.

Geez, Happy take a bex.

It sounds to me that you are on the verge of becoming a Broncos member. Wouldn't that be great? No more footy worries, ever.

But at the end of the day …. they are still the damn Broncos.

Wests Tigers may not be well liked, well run or too successful but I'll take them every day of the week over any other nob NRL club. Sad really.

Being a broncos fan would be great, no drama get to be Friday and Thursday night show ponies every week, and go into the weekend after your game every week, can sign anyone and everyone, and always be in the top 4 year after year.

Maybe lets just merge the club and be the Brisbane tigers then all will be fine

I think the cooling off period is 10 business days - with Easter and Anzac Day in there if he signed on 12th april - cooling off wouldn't be until 2nd may.

I did not read to this page before posting my earlier reply. 6pm (close of business) on Monday May 1st will be the ten full days (plus part of the signing day). If Baze is as correct as he seems that he signed on Tuesday, then it will be COB on May 3rd.

Normally announcements are made in the morning, however you may recall that the recent signings of McQueen and Brooks have come out in the evening. I have little doubt that with so much negativity around, the club has rushed them out as darkness fell on the tenth days to quickly get something positive out.

Where is the Tigers number one ticket holder when we need him (Harry T). Didnt he once state that if the club needed money for players, that he'd help out. He's been awfully quiet through all this, really need him to help out now.

it is not about money they dont want to be here anymore. as i said my brother spoke to moses yesterday. they just want out and are leaving 100 per cent

Dear dear some here are on melt down… I think the best thing moving forward is that both do leave the club .As alluded to with these guys look at the results over the last few seasons .The time has come for the rebirth of our club the clean out will be huge and the weak mindset that most of the roster have will be gone. Unlike many I am excited about the future of the team , seen all this before over the decades I support my club ...as Coach Cleary has stated your on the bus or not . I hope the real story comes out about what has transpired with these guys as it needs to be told as careers have been tarnished, people treated badly all for pandering to a group of sad individuals .
