That's why i like my idea of a Rally with banners flags n stuff outside Concord Oval..It worked last …oh..

What about Happy personally approaching the CEO with his grievances.

How about fans as a whole bombard this club and CEO with its grievances …. :bulb:

And then stop showing up to games , not buy memberships , not buy merchandise , smash Harry T's Meriton pages with complaints ......

What did John Lennon say "its easy if you try "

Something like this. Hi - I'm Earl. Nice to meet you. Could you please get the "footy whisperer" and his masseuse a job oiling the boys up once a week. I just want to see the boys happy.

And could we pay the big 3 say 3 million per season each.

Thanks.

When you look at all the player's the club has let go to prioritize these guy's as the future of the club it will sure be a kick in the teeth to than see them all go and leave the club with nothing. I wonder how the likes of TMM Austin Papenhuyzen feel about the guys possibly leaving after they changed clubs as they didn't see a future for themselves here. Surely they (the fraud 3) can see the tiger's will be left in the lurch by their dragging contracts out, letting players go in the meantime than having them leave as well. Pretty poor form really especially by Woods he should have been talking the club up to the rest of them not bailing like a coward.

Ah slacktivism hashtags. Now it's a movement.

Least that's not as bad as some who have gone to the trouble of actually messaging him on his Facebook account, begging him to stay. No wonder he went off social media.

I didn't think Happy had Facebook?

Happy doesn't have facebook

Mate I would say to him exactly what I said to his Dad last time

James Tedesco has to do what's best for James Tedesco

Not Happy Tiger or John Tedesco or Wests Tigers fans

So he is staying then. The only question is why didn't he re-sign last year ?

If all that is true why did he stay last time?
If offering a guy a million or more a year to play footy isn't a sign of respect then I don't know what is.

I'm guessing happy has flipped his lid because he has confirmation teddy is gone. Same thing happened last time from memory.

I have a lot of time for Happy, his knowledge and humor are great. However, in this current negotiation I don't blame the club.

It can be this easy - here is the money, we think you're our future and this is the best we can do. Do you want to stay?

That is a yes or no question that Teddy or any of the others could have answered months ago.

Agree. If he is upset with things that happened 3 and 4 years ago there is nothing anyone can do about that.

If he still feels that the same issues are continuing then the answer is pretty simple and he and the club need to move on.

I'll be disappointed, but i've stuck with the club through worse.

I'd said it at least 5 times now , it's not the fact players are leaving , it's why players are leaving

**Look at all our QUALITY recruits from outside the club , very few have stayed until the end of their careers**

Don't you ask yourself why they don't …...

Who are these so called "quality recruits"?

You haven't broken any rules Happy so just relax mate.

I won't relax ,Willow

Its about time fans start tearing this place apart , forcing them to accountable and stop screwing this place up

The people in charge don't care Willow , as long as they come out smelling like roses , they're happy

So tell me maestro, Wests Ashfield have been in charge now for about a year. They 'own' the board 5 to 4, so are you suggesting that there is still an "us v them" atmosphere? How?

Wests Tigers are all but Western Suburbs Magpies except in name only. What do you suggest we do? Emails will get ignored or simply deleted, protests don't much - ask the Farah fans last year.

We are members of Wests Tigers but have no voting rights re the board. If the board are the problem then it is Wests Ashfield members who can vote.

You keep gibbering on about how much of a wreck this club is but what are your solutions?

I **knowthat this is the Last year that we will be paying for the legacy of the last few years of shared club voting rights and a rotating chair. That's why I'm so excited, we have a chance to start again with a clearer direction and a majority owner.\
\
It's pretty simple, when previous administrations sign bad deals that last 4 or 5 years, you have to pay for that for the length of that contract. That means you can have everything right behind the scenes for a long time before you get back to a level playing field re salary cap.\
\
Some of us are having our dummy spit a few years late, as are the players who want out. I also know, for a fact, from the mouth of a board member, that under previous administrations one side of the merger used their control of the board to override CEO and coaching staff on contracts and squad decisions. Then when it all goes pear shaped, they are no longer accountable and someone else has to bale us out of this mess.\
\
CQ tiger, my answer to you is for now we need to wait, I know it has been painful, but the past can't be changed. All the previous talk of plans and whatnot was fluff, our hands were tied. If you. need more convincing think about this. We are paying around 2 mil this year for Farah and broses. One wants out, one is gone, and one has resigned for less.\
\
If in 2 years the club hasn't improved on the field I will shout you a plane ticket and you can come with me and we can burn a WT flag on the steps of parliament.**

**OMT thank you for some insights, although I think you misread me. I am not upset with what is going on, I was only replying to Happy who has a bee in his bonnet and wants a revolution.\
\
I didn't know that this is the last year of rotating chairs. So I assume Wests Ashfield will take the chair for good next year. Does this mean no more independents? I know Wests Ashfield offered to keep 2 Balmain members on the board. Will this change to a 7/2 board?**

Throw the book at him Willow

I'd rather throw a group hug at Happy at the moment, he needs one.

Captain Dan isn't a tree hugging group hugger :imp:

Who are these so called "quality recruits"?

Ellis Thompson Austin Taupau Tuqiri Blair

Let's break this down shall we

Ellis - Went back to England a year earlier than expected. Most likely due to home sickness

Thompson - The club wanted to re-sign him but word was he wanted to be closer to family in NZ

Austin - That's an easy one. We let him go because we went with Moses

Taupau - Offered a goldmine by Manly that we could not match.

Lote - Was absolutely abysmal with us after 2010.

Blair - The most heavily scrutinised player in the club's history. Do't think many consider him a bad loss.

Overall, pretty ordinary examples Hap.

Happy - I think that your anger should be directed at the players who have abandoned the club who has taken them to this level.

We do need pitchforks and we just need to line up the leaving players and their grubby manager.

Mate players aren't stupid , they won't bag former clubs .

And yet most improved after leaving as well

Am I the only one who thinks Tedesco is staying? I can understand why people think otherwise; maybe I'm just optimistic or deluding myself. Only if I could go back in time to tell my younger self to support Storm.

I think he'll stay from his last quotes…... but if he does go we've been played by the media
There are over 50 players off contract yet we are being singled out by behind the scene journalist who might have alternative motives but we will see if all the other players get so much flack from the media and fans to make a decision

Correct on all counts. His quotes suggest he's likely to stay. Media speculation says he's gone. So called journalists from a certain media outlet have it in for us.
What else is disappointing is that many fans on this forum choose to believe the speculation from this particular media outlet. And not just speculation about Woods and Tedesco but the so called 'basket case' of a club and chairwoman and CEO.
I for one would like to believe the club whilst it's had its issues is progressing well. Heck even JT after he got shafted couldn't speak badly of the board.
But back to the topic whatever happens happens. If they stay we're building the team around them. If they go that will be disappointing especially Teddy, but we have the right coach in place to sign the right talent for 2018

Don't they have a pre-contract window in EPL from January, for players to sign deals for the next season while seeing out the current one with their clubs? That league seems to go alright.

In European soccer, there's a transfer window in their Summer that opens at the conclusion of the various seasons, and closes at the end of August.
There's another mid-season transfer window for the duration of January.
Players move as they're signed, then and there.
Not really a great comparison though, as contracts are bought out by clubs, and very few players move as free agents. There's also loans and even co-ownership (in Italy), so they're a bit all over the shop.

The American examples are slightly more relevant in that free agency is a big thing, but the comparison suffers when you see the differences in $$.
The AFL system isn't perfect by any means, but it's a damn sight better than the current NRL incarnation, and we should definitely have a look at their system to see where we can improve (protected contracts for home-grown players, signing windows, trades, internal draft etc).

European footballers can sign pre-contracts in the January window to move at the end of the season. They play for their current clubs until then.

Sure - but how often does that happen in practice, especially when moving within the same league?
The vast majority of transfers at the top level involve transfer feees.

It happens when players are coming off contract, same as the NRL. Clubs have an incentive to sell before then of course, because if they don't they lose all value. The only difference is that the NRL doesn't really have transfer fees so clubs might as well hang onto players even when they're no chance of staying. But I doubt you'd want transfer fees in the NRL, right? Just more ways for clubs with deeper pockets to gain an advantage.

it wont be the same without Tedesco and Woods
IMHO if WT offered up to $800k to Woods and $1M to Tedesco, and they still want to leave, than let it be.
On hypocritical anger, how many of our 'fuming' fans would reject similar offers, talking about glass houses :crazy

Is it just me or are there other who don't understand how tedesco is as good as gone

According to reports,
Roosters- Their offer is below ours OR are yet to formally table an offer depending on which reports you believe.
Bulldogs-Have reportedly signed woods and channel seven just reported Foran too. Surely even if they shed players they simply can't afford Tedesco, Woods and Foran on million dollar contracts.
Tigers- Have formally offered tedesco a million dollar deal. If he doesn't accept this, than his only offer will be from the roosters who since have no competition will offer Tedesco significantly less than what the tigers have

Isn't financially smarter by quite a lot for Tedesco to sign with us? This doesn't even consider Tedesco being able to play with his mates or the fact that he's a junior.

So what is it that I'm missing? Can someone help me out??
