James Tedesco Signs with Roosters [Official]

Isn't it ironic that to some the only way of retaining these guys was to sack JT and bring in Cleary. Hasn't exactly worked out that way has it.

Meh, was a win/win dont you agree?

I am sure that Widdop would jump at a Wests Tigers' offer.

We will be needing a reliable goal kicker too, and Moses is not that spot on with goal kicking, so Widdop would be great for us 😛ray:

But there is always ….. the only way of attracting worthwhile players, improving crap plays, crap defence, bad decisions on players etc. Etc. Etc.
Give me a break "you want Taylor :brick:

Give it a rest Hap.

People are only caring about Teddy leaving this time around.

People would of thrown Teddy under a bus last time round CB

Funny how some things never change

Yeah, I remember it well as I was one of the few who actually said Teddy was free to do as he pleased.

Don't remember saying that you did CB ….. 😕

'm just saying how the past often repeats and how humorous it is to watch

I'd be disappointed if Teddy copped the same backlash this time around. He paid the club back by staying for less dough and playing like a gun, putting his body on the line every game despite his injury history.

He had to go, i agree. But its funny thinking back to how adament some were that Cleary was our only hope. There was even a thread about how Moses being coached by Cleary at the WC would make him want him here. Well we signed Cleary and two days later Moses asked for a release lol. I think these guys were more loyal to JT than some care to admit, At the very least, they knew they could get away with stringing the club along under him. Not the case with Cleary.

Well it has already started OMT

If the four of them backflip and stay than we will have bugger all money left to introduce new players to our roster and to change culture we need a influx of new talent

Yeah we will only have about 3 mill. Oh whoa is us.

Not saying you did mate, chill. I remember the fuss well because I took the unpopular side of the debate.

All I am saying is that people only care what's happening now, not what nearly did but didn't last time.

I can understand why people are emotionally invested in this. He's an outstanding player, we don't produce many of them and we invested heavily in him in his development and injuries. I don't want to lose him either but if it's just the money keeping him here I don't think I would want him to stay. You have to have more motivation than that.

i was on the verge of giving it to him last week, and the others, and then I took a step back and realised that in his shoes I'd take the highest offer from a club that can show me a solid plan for the future.

It wouldn't be fun to watch him play against us, but he only gets 8 or so more years in his career so good luck to him.

Where I disagree with him is that I think the club is finally looking ok off the field, and so I feel his comments about a perennially unstable club have come at a bad time.

I also didnt like the bit about the finals, because the players are accountable for that too. At the end of the day however, he has a tough decision, and I appreciate he was honest enough to at least tell people what he was thinking instead of a bland NRL approved standard answer.

I can kinda cut some slack for Teddy about the finals comment. He is by and far our best player and would be the icing on the cake at a team who will be a surety for finals footy. Bit rich hearing it from the likes of Moses though whom has put in ordinary efforts of late.

I look into my crystal ball and see a reduced competition of only six strong clubs.

All this came about because for years promising juniors and seasoned first graders at the 16 NRL clubs only wanted to play for the few strong and successful clubs. Albeit that those six clubs stayed strong and successful by rorting and manipulating the conventions if the times.

NOTE: my crystal ball is full of cracks.

There is no way in the world Widdop will sign with the Tigers. He will stay with St George or go back to England.

Got to love some latemail. At least explain why there is no chance - why not Tigers, he would rather leave Australia than play against St George?

Hello,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

My Dogs supporting mate says Teddy has already signed with the dogs as has Woodsy. Don't care about Woodsy, but please tell me Teddy isn't true.

I've told my friend that Teddy wants to stay and that he'd choose the Roosters over the Bulldogs if he was to leave, but my friend is adamant it's a done deal.

Anybody have any inside word?

The Tede$co rubbish on here at the time was abhorrent to say the least, particularly as WT were offering way below market level.
