James Tedesco Signs with Roosters [Official]

After seeing Mybye play tonight and with the hoppa Sunday problem I'm not surprised their showing interest.

When is this Kelley Egan nd whatever his sidekicks name is gonna start earning their keep?..

Cmon the real reason we signed Egan is he does his own home brew which tastes pretty good and he owns a pizza oven

Player retention , as if that's in his job description :unamused:

I've also been hearing about the Moses/Tedesco rumours. I even heard that Moses backflipped on a Roosters deal over the Summer….

I think this is just managers creating hype to get the contract negotiations moving in their favour.

Supposedly the dogs are after Moses big time

Dogs offering big dollars to Moses and Tedesco.
Hasler will play Teddy at Prop and Moses at lock.

Well the other rumour is Hasler won't be there in 2018 he will be at the Dragons,,,

But with the use of happy's trusty tin foil hat I've come up with a much more solid theory …A Coaching swap Jason Taylor>>>> Dogs... Dessie>>>>>Wests Tigers..

It's plain to see with the hat on tight...Hasler has been quietly assembling his back office buddies here at the Wests Tigers ..whilst the articles from Moses saying he loves playing under Taylor and Teddy's 7 interview saying they play there best football together ..would not surprise me in the slightest either ...if Woods goes there as well being besties with Klemmer and all..Brooksy can just tag along for the ride..

Dessie will then bring Mong Eye and Mbye with him and to complete this tangled web of intrigue get Tony Williams over from the Sharks...

This will also confirm Jason Taylor's status as the most hated man in joint venture history..win/win

Boy there are some rumours regarding theses two, I want them both to stay but, If they want to go & we have made them good offers what do we do. I do remember Teddy saying if he got a good offer from the Tigers he would stay, He also said they same about Brooks & Moses.Hope its over & done with soon.

There's an article again this morning with Tedesco talking about how much the 4 want to remain together. Though for the first time he conceded keeping them together won't be easy. Idk if it's because of the Dogs rumour, but this is starting to get a bit iffy.

Tedesco tells Hayne he won’t give up Blues No 1 spot

The Australian12:00AM February 11, 2017

Incumbent NSW Origin fullback James Tedesco has issued a friendly warning to Jarryd Hayne that he will have a fight on his hands if he wants his old spot back again.

Tedesco fought tooth and nail to get the No 1 jersey in Laurie Daley’s Blues side last year and he’s not about to sit idly by and watch Hayne waltz back into his place.

The 24-year-old Wests Tiger flyer just needs to produce the sort of unpredictable, entertaining and ultimately pointscoring moves he did last year and it will cause real selection headaches.

Tedesco crossed for 14 tries in 17 games for Wests Tigers. Another measure of his worth were the 106 linebreaks. Cronulla fullback Ben Barba made the same number of busts but played 10 more games.

Hayne scored nine tries in his 20 Origin games and was one of the key players when NSW broke Queensland’s eight-year streak in 2014.

After missing Origin I and II with a shoulder injury last year, Tedesco finally made his debut in Origin III at ANZ Stadium.

“Last year it was a bit of a surprise but now I know how good I can play. If I can stay on the field and play my best footy then hopefully I retain that No 1 jersey,” Tedesco said.

“Anywhere in the backline I’d be happy to get a run.

“But I’m pretty confident if I play my best footy I can keep that No 1 spot.”

The next trick will be whether Wests can keep Tedesco together with fellow spine members five-eighth Mitchell Moses, halfback Luke Brooks and captain Aaron Woods at prop. All four are off contract in 2017, which must have Tigers fans nervous.

Last month the club announced it had signed 18-year-old Moses Suli to a three-year deal worth $1.3 million and the young centre had not played first grade yet.

Tedesco said there was no fear Suli had devoured some of the capital already before the foursome had penned their deals.

“Not at all. At training he’s been very impressive. We all have noticed in opposed sessions that he’s going to be a freak,” Tedesco said.

“We’ve got all the confidence in him and no anxiety from anybody. We’re all happy he’s going to be there long term as he’s going to be a special player.

**“Hopefully it all gets done soon with us. It’s probably easier with me and Woodsie, Mitch and Luke all being with the same manager.\
\
“So I’m not worrying it too much. All the boys have confidence in him so we’re leaving it with him and not stressing out too much.\
\
“That’s the key, to not get too caught up in it all. We know Isaac (Moses) has our best interests at heart.”\
\
Whether their manager can pull off the quadruple with Tigers chief executive Justin Pascoe is a valid question.\
\
“We’ve obviously would like to stay together. We play our best footy together; we’ve grown up playing with the Wests Tigers. But we’ve never really said to each other ‘Let’s stay’ or ‘Let’s go’ or discussed it like that.\
\
“We know Isaac would like to keep us together too. That would be awesome but we know it will be hard to keep all four at the same club. Hopefully we can.”\
\
Tedesco said he would not become stressed if the deal wasn’t done until deeper into the season.\
\
“Not really. If I was a bit younger I’d be wanting to get it done as I’d be worried about it affecting my season.\
\
“But I’m not worried now. I know I’ll go out and play my normal footy if I’m contracted or not.”\
\
He would like a lengthy deal but is undecided how long.\
\
“I’m pretty happy with how I’ve been playing over the last year or two. I’m not sure if my value is going to go any further up or down,” he said.\
\
“I’m in the (starting) 17 so once I get a long-term contract I’ll be settled into that team.”**

I'll admit i'm usually one of the first people to roll my eyes when others look at the wording of things through a magnifying glass, but there were little things here that I couldn't help but notice.

Using ''there'' instead of ''here''. I wouldn't have thought anything of this if not for Tedesco a few weeks ago when talking about the direction the club was heading in referred to them as ''we'' including himself, now its like he's subtly distancing himself.

This isn't news, we all know that. But for someone inside the club to admit that, not just someone, but one of the big 4, not just one of the big 4, the biggest of the big 4, it's slightly concerning.

More subtle separation. I hope i'm just paranoid but his tone, while still upbeat is a bit different to what it was a few weeks ago if you dig beneath the surface a little. Hopefully someone tells me i'm being crazy and overthinking.

BREAKING NEWS!!
The Sydney Roosters are on the verge of offering Wests Tigers player James Tedesco a multi million dollar deal from season 2018 and beyond.

Don't know this Ali, but from what I've read here his not a reliable source.

But every wrong prediction gets him closer to right one :unamused:

He's a high school kid from Merrylands in Sydney's west with too much time on his hands

I'm putting my trust in you knowing something Geo. I trust you're laughing off every rumour for a reason.

The loyalty card only goes so far but i would hope that with a decent offer it will be enough to retain all of our top 4.The main thing that i do worry about is what both the roosters and dogs offer which we dont is a team that makes the semis more often than not and has a genuine chance of winning a comp plus they have good coaches. We dont match that criteria.
Hopefully loyalty to the club makes up for that.

I'm not sure the club is in the right place yet to compete with the likes of the Roosters and Bulldogs especially if there is any truth in the rumours.
The loyalty factor may have been key in years previous but with all that's happened in recent times really dont think that will be a factor in their decision.

Even if all that happened transpired to benefit them?

People should do themselves a favour and not read into any of this contract talk or rumours, half of it is completely untrue and the other half is just player managers playing games and trying to get the best deal possible

We have pretty much a whole cap to spend starting next year and all 4 of these boys would prefer to stay together (as they have all stated publicly). Tedesco has now said that their manager even wants them all to stay together.

So we have the money, we want to keep them and they want to stay..what's to worry about?

That's the thing GNR I think it will come down to what benefits them career and monetary wise, and I don't think loyalty will be as big a factor as it was in days gone by because increasingly clubs and players no longer abide by it.The lure of what the Roosters and or Bulldogs offer is going to be very difficult for us to compete against.
Still think the key is to try as hard as they can to retain all four whether that's even possible I don't know.

If all or some of them go, surely with the cap we have available we would buy experience instead of paying big bucks for "potential" get immediate results , not have another long term plan
