I'll be disapointed If we go into next year with Broses as our halves again.

Me too

With you both on that one. I think this whole debacle is a blessing in disguise, we need a new halves pairing and the possibility of signing some new forwards if we release Woods excites me. I just don't think achieving all of this comes without a price, the heavy price of losing Teddy.

This is the final boarding call for passengers Teddy and Woods booked on bus 2040 to the finals. Please proceed to gate 3 immediately. The final checks are being completed and Ivan will order for the tickets of the bus to finalize asap. I repeat. This is the final boarding call for Teddy and Woods. Thank you.

You're funny.

Isn't it ironic that to some the only way of retaining these guys was to sack JT and bring in Cleary. Hasn't exactly worked out that way has it.

Meh, was a win/win dont you agree?

He had to go, i agree. But its funny thinking back to how adament some were that Cleary was our only hope. There was even a thread about how Moses being coached by Cleary at the WC would make him want him here. Well we signed Cleary and two days later Moses asked for a release lol. I think these guys were more loyal to JT than some care to admit, At the very least, they knew they could get away with stringing the club along under him. Not the case with Cleary.

If that's the case, they'd have signed before he was sacked, and just maybe they would have shown some sort of effort on the field for him.some of these blokes were wanting to get off the rickety old bus way before Cleary arrived and started the cleanup

As i said, they probably knew as long as JT was at the helm that they could milk it for as long as they wanted. JT wasn't exactly putting any pressure on them publicly to decide.

Hello,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

My Dogs supporting mate says Teddy has already signed with the dogs as has Woodsy. Don't care about Woodsy, but please tell me Teddy isn't true.

I've told my friend that Teddy wants to stay and that he'd choose the Roosters over the Bulldogs if he was to leave, but my friend is adamant it's a done deal.

Anybody have any inside word?

It is my experience that for every person that says "I have insider knowledge X is going to happen", there is someone else who has different inside knowledge that Y is going to happen.

What I really want to know is how the Bulldogs can clear the deck so quickly to mobilise offers to Woodesco (I've coined it), offers that have to be huge otherwise they'd stay with us.

According to zero tackle, not flawless, but the off-contract 2017 players are: Doolan, Elliott, Frawley, Garvey, Griffin, Holland, Hopoate, Lichaa, Phillips, Reynolds, Saunders, Stanley.

Bearing in mind you still need to field Top 30 and reserve grade, and with due respect to those players, but how on earth do they then afford Woodesco? The answer to me is they do no, they have to offload. And I haven't seen any offload deals, maybe they are triggered pending Woodesco signatures… but potentially such a risk, if they can't find suitors or they are paying massive subsidies to other clubs to take their footballers.

I've had the feeling for a few weeks that Woods and Tedesco have already committed elsewhere… but that's all it is, a feeling.

We'll all know sooner or later.
It's a waiting game except for the main players in this soap opera whi would all know what they are doing.

I believe that they both signed a while ago and today's announcement by the Bulldogs just gives them a convenient out of all this "will they, won't they" nonsense that doesn't make them look ordinary.

Other clubs should play hardball and force them to cough up as much as they can to pay players to play at their clubs.

Looks like he has signed with the roosters.

Just been on the phone with one of the major sponsors for the chooks. Dealings through work.

He let me know it's just been done.

He often let's me know what's going on with them and has always been on the money.

Can you please make up your minds. A poster with 2 posts to his or her credit says his best mate says is done at the Bulldogs. Another says the Roosters.

People would of thrown Teddy under a bus last time round CB

Funny how some things never change

Yeah, I remember it well as I was one of the few who actually said Teddy was free to do as he pleased.

Don't remember saying that you did CB ….. 😕

'm just saying how the past often repeats and how humorous it is to watch

Not saying you did mate, chill. I remember the fuss well because I took the unpopular side of the debate.

All I am saying is that people only care what's happening now, not what nearly did but didn't last time.

I can understand why people are emotionally invested in this. He's an outstanding player, we don't produce many of them and we invested heavily in him in his development and injuries. I don't want to lose him either but if it's just the money keeping him here I don't think I would want him to stay. You have to have more motivation than that.

But it is possibly repeating itself

I wonder which player / player manager will be the "so called" hero this time :unamused:

I always get a laugh out of the "my mate follows club x and he reckons they've signed player x" line like being a supporter magically gives you inside info.

Before that it was the Dragons, let's just wait for the official announcement otherwise it will do all our heads in (if it hasn't already done so)!! :brick:

I can kinda cut some slack for Teddy about the finals comment. He is by and far our best player and would be the icing on the cake at a team who will be a surety for finals footy. Bit rich hearing it from the likes of Moses though whom has put in ordinary efforts of late.

When playing for us is affecting both Woods and Tedesco's representative honours in the future going forwards as well you can understand why these blokes are thinking long and hard

Woods and Tedesco especially , these are the years they can really pull the big bucks and set themselves up for life after football

I'd imagine informing the sponsors of upcoming signings is every club's first instinct…

I don't think is true at all. They may even get picked and not be the best options when it comes to rep footy. Woods especially doesn't appear to be the best prop in NSW and he is continually getting picked in SOO and even for Australia.

I also think we are offering these guys the most amount of money that is available. Personally I think Woods especially is being offered massive overs. Tedesco probably is as well but he is a much less easily replaced player.

Anyway - time will tell who we sign.

If Tedesco does leave, is he the highest calibre Tigers player ever to leave? For Balmain, people were filthy on Glenn Morrison and he was really not that standout a footballer, people lamented Tim Brasher's indecision.

For some reason I never really could picture Tedesco in another club's colours, but in hindsight he's threatened to or attempted to leave on both contract renegotiations. Actually Tedesco is one of the worst recent cases for players looking hard at jumping ship each time his contract is up, and the media nonsense that goes around and around.

And if I recall correctly from Farah's last contract, the one that got us in a lot of trouble, we ponied up because Titans came in with such a strong offer… and it hurt us in the long run.

Nobody is replaceable and I look forward to spending the warchest, if that's the way it goes.

Personally I think that Woods and Tedesco through Moses came up initially with a big bluff to get more o their contacts with these so called other offers.

Now they may still leave but for a lot less money.

If Teddy goes to the Roosters then we should consider Michael Gordon.

Plays full back and not a bad goal kicker.

Players can change their minds during the 10 day cooling off period.

At the moment is appears

Teddy to Easts and Woods to Canterbury.

Teddy would be hard to replace as he has the "x factor" ever successful club needs to win the premiership.

Have not been overly impressed with Woods and can be replaced.
