OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

It's funny how winning vs losing a game of football decides what is reality in life or not
It’s more like how a players behaviour towards the club shapes peoples view of them. At the start of the year, AD was universally praised. Then he walked out on the team and now his value is being diminished. And now Luai. He’s been average from the beginning on the field, no one disputes that. But to claim he was bullying Galvin when everyone at the time was happy to see the players unite against him, it’s talking out of your arse. There’s enough to hate him for. Don’t need to make things up.

Pretty much. When it rains it pours. There will always be reputations tarnished by bad events, but nonetheless the truth in each situation must be brought out, not feelings.

Don't celebrate him leaving yet ...we still have 500 k of him on the books in 2027

Yep, whether all or part of that is applied this year or next, WT no longer have that money to spend elsewhere on our top squad in 2027, as it could have gone to front loading others. The result is the same, half a million down.

Those dollars would get an above average player, or be spent on positions 28-30 with a little change left over next season.

I don’t have the same hatred for Luai as a lot of others. Came to the wooden spooners prove himself when guys like Cooper Cronk would never consider challenging himself at a lower club.

He wasn’t able to be Batman, but he gave it a crack. Today showed we don’t need him and by leaving we are saved from a salary cap mess.

I’m glad he’s leaving but no hard feelings from me.
I thought Luai was good for the club until he announced his signing with the Chiefs. He was poor, especially when told to look for another club in 2027.

Got a feeling Benji was overruled on that.

Before that, although Luai rarely reached the heights of his Panthers and NSW form, he was our best player at times. He was setting up tries

Biggest problems were his avoidance of playing straight and a kicking game that was too often ineffective.

It was time to go with an unhappy ending.
