i just read on bbc sport he dreams of being able to play with his brother and under daniel anderson again

The NRL auditor will have to be on full alert if that happens.

Hayne just re-signed for big dollars ($500,000 apparently), they also have Hindmarsh, Cayless, Mateo, Moi Moi, Inu, Burt, Grothe etc who wouldn't be on peanuts, and add to that they have signed Tahu, Poore and Shackleton.

No way they can fit him in. Maybe they will have to cut someone? We'll take Mannah or Moi Moi!

Take into consideration Grothe > Japanese Union, and they can afford Cayless.

I think the Eels will be sheeding some players regardless of Grothe going…

Noway that team can be under the cap... the Salary cap no longer protects clubs and creates a level playing field, it just enables clubs with the resources for under-hand payments to exceed!!

What garbage the NRL is becoming...

If Jason Cayless or any other player has any doubts that he wants to play for the Wests Tigers, than I wouldn`t bother persuing him/them. Jeff Lima is a Tiger at heart and that`s what we need imo !!!

I agree.

Why pursue someone that wants to play for another club?? Gallant would have died for us and WT offered him peanuts which he signed for, then was offered 3 times more by NQLD. We should give the money to those that would be proud to wear our jersey.

so you are implying that Gallant won;t put the effort in for NQ?
Professional players in the modern era will give their all for the team they are playing for. In the case of those that don;t it has nothing to do with the club it's a natural weakness of character in the player & they wouldn;t put in regardless of who they are playing for. eg. t'eo

edit - back on topic hopefully the panters signing puletua means they are now less interested in Cayless.

I agree with you softlaw….how come then certain people bag Sheens cause he can't get the best out of say....Laurie for example.....

Cayless would put in regardless of his desire to play with his brother.......

I still think its rather funny, we are talking to a bloke who has a big question mark over his fitness and his ability to perform at the required level after many years away in the ESL and also would not be cheap yet we see Ryan Tandy again show his wares last night, the bloke Sheens didnt rate and was as cheap as chips. Okay their is always going to be the players you let go who go on to prove you wrong, but Tandy was the best forward in the reggie comp last year by a country mile, it was a no brainer that he would make the grade as a solid fgrader at a bargin price.

if he wasnt rated why did he play f/g for us :unamused:
im sure he was rated but there just wasnt room in our top 25 for him

From wat ive heard he is a done deal to come to the Tigers but he has big question marks over his knees… If he is fit then the Tigers will be a certain title contender.

Maybe he & Toupou can share the 1 good set of knees they have between them.
Here's hoping he's fit

i dont think, burt or inu r resigned but if they are, and with tahu and inu in the centres id like to pick up joel reddy

Inu resigned….Bert looks like being sqoeezed out which begs the question.....How would they afford Cayless....

So Cayless kness and shoulder are stuffed..........Hmmm......Hope he can be rehabed.....

With the wear and tear these guys cop each week, I have my doubts. Lance Thompson is a classic example. The bloke had a fairly long career but at the age of 30 realised he couldn't play in the backyard properly with his daughter because his knees were stuffed.
