Even Pole has started to decline a bit imo …

There’s only so much natural ability can take you before you need actual NRL development, put him in a top 4 team and he’d probably be a gun already
He had a cracker of a game on the weekend. Ran for 131m and made 22 tackles at 96% efficiency.

He's 20 years old and has played 16 first grade games.... He's doing very well.

I hope he isn't fast-tracked into the Firsts next season. Would like him to have a couple of good pre-seasons in the gym and progress from JF and then a good amount of time in Cup against open aged. He has the makings of a weapon but will need time I reckon.
He's still 3/4 years away from getting any significant first grade action I think. But that's a good thing. If he stays on his trajectory, he's a good one for sure.

he’s super raw. given the quality and depth of the forward pack he won’t be called upon earlier than his development plan. will likely spend the entire year in Flegg while Laulili’i, Da Silva and Fa’agutu progress up the ranks which is exactly what his development needs.

front rowers take time, look at Hame Sele for example. just need to keep them in the system and let them develop until they finally turn the corner. Miller will be one of those. once he grows into his body we will have a representative player on our hands, of that I have zero doubt.

Apparently Solo Saukuru is training with Flegg too, I got told hes playing this weekend but hasnt been named so might be bad info. My guess is theyll play him off the bench with Feledy and Vaihu both good centres, unless one of them is moving upto NSW Cup.

I personally don't think either of them are far off making their Cup debuts which would see Saukuru become a regular starter at Flegg level. Vaihu looks to have gone to another level this year, while Feledy has huge wraps and has the ability to be in the right place at the right time more often than not. you'd think Feledy won't be far off.

Solo's versatility makes him a very interesting case, can play centre, back row, as a middle or even at fullback if required.

All may depend if Naden is a late out in 1sts. Otherwise we probably have the same backline in NSW Cup as last week.

I think Tumeth is due back this week but if it's Mansfield & Blore in the NSW Cup backrow, he may be off the Cup bench or perhaps returns in Flegg to build up his match fitness.

Have to take into account that Nofoaluma is playing NRL this week.

He's been named in NSW Cup too, so that'll be at least one change to the Cup team before the weekend.

Thanks for the pickup.

I wonder then if the 'ol Triston Reilly back to fullback, Israel Ogden to wing & Feledy or Vaihu to centre may occur!

We seem to have a great bunch of jrs comming through Bula at fullback da silver at hooker it’s just so frustrating that we don’t have stand out halfback commimg through the grades

we do, unfortunately the two main candidates in Conti and Isdale are playing Harold Matts and Oliver Lawry is injured.

I don’t know much about the Balmain side of things but given the timeline for Da Silva, Miller etc I’d say Conti will probably do his first preseason this year pending what he decides to do in terms of committing to League or Union. for mine he is the best halfback in the pathways by a distance and would ideally partner Large long term if we can convince him to sign a deal.

I like Isdale but I think he is far too structured and has plenty of developing to do.

Well we haven't seen Oliver Lawry yet who trained with the squad in the pre-season & sustained a shoulder injury in about Rd 2 of SG Ball. He made the NZ 18yo Schools Team last year.

Then it's down to 17yo Alex Conti for our next standout.

Ok sweet good to hear we have some options hopefully 1 of them can impress as much as da silver has over the past couple of years

I'm confident that they'll fix the 7 issue over the coming in the next 12-24 months. I really don't think Brooks is in their long-term plans...not on the kind of money he's on now anyway

Our Jersey Flegg team takes on the Panthers in Windsor on Sunday, aiming to back up last week’s big win over the Sea Eagles with another strong performance.

The side was boosted last weekend by the addition of three Magpies SG Ball players who made their Jersey Flegg debut, and there will be another on Sunday.

Powerful middle forward, Chris Faagutu played in the NRL Pre-season Challenge in New Zealand earlier this year, and has been named on the interchange bench.

The team also welcomes recruit Danny Ghantous who will play his first game for Wests Tigers. A speedy dummy half, Ghantous will look to capitalise on the platform laid by Lomi Saukuru and Jackson Owen in the middle.
Team List:
1. Trey Peni
2. Harrison Henson
3. Josh Feledy
4. Sione Vaihu
5. Jay Kirk
6. Zane Camroux
7. Mitchell Chester
8. Apisalome Saukuru
9. Danny Ghantous
10. Jackson Owen
11. Brandon Tumeth
12. Finnley Neilsen
13. Cayne Nicholas (c)
14. Michael Tannous
15. Tony Sukkar
16. Herman Tofaeono
17. Christopher Faagutu
`18. Compton Fuatimau

Some confusing selections in both NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg this week (if they do run out like this). I can't understand why Tallyn and Kit aren't in the team this week. The only reason could be injury. They were excellent last week and are the future moving forward. Great to see Faagutu get his 1st game though!

If Tumeth is fit, he should be playing Cup ahead of Boyling.

Anyone heard of Ghantous before?

Very bizarre stuff. And signing two hookers in the last week, when da Silva is just coming into grade, Rua is fit again, as is Tannous. Why would we sign this Ghantous for Flegg? And bring back Cherrington makes a little more sense so we don't rush the kids but still it's all very erratic
