I was able to catch the 2nd half of the game this is what I noticed

- Makasini & Large need to be kept in the Flegg for the remainder of the year and hopefully finals run for Flegg. Both kids didn’t look out of place at all

- Kanaan needs to stay at fb for us. I think Tavano does not have a place back in this Flegg side.

- Vaihu is a strong ball carrier but for the love of everything in the world can someone explain to me why we kept feeding him the ball 10m out on our last tackle?

- Left side was strong and our right side absolutely disgusting on defence

- Chris Faagutu needs to be signed asap and not be let go for whatever reason !! He was everywhere for us and a big reason why our middle were able to maintain dominance in that 2nd half especially towards the end in crunch time. Hit manlys middles hard in defence and everytime he ran the ball, he was damaging and aggressive. Also set up Liles sealing fg with a damaging run to get us in range. He could probably teach our first grade middles a thing or two about aggression in attack and defence

Thanks for the report Ace.

I'm looking forward to what Kanaan can do at fullback in JF next season, he brings a lot more in both A & D than Tavana.

Fingers crossed we keep Faagutu. He is contracted in top 30 next season & all speculation he could be one that is moved on based on who his manager is and being retained in Flegg late in season rather than promoted to Cup.

How did Tumeth go? Most on here think he will be on the chopping block as well, same reasons as above.

I'm also hopeful top-agers Cayne Nicholas & Bailey Hodges are retained in NSW Cup next season but the announcement of 2 other hookers (Pope, Wilson) on T&T contracts may make it hard to retain Hodges unfortunately.

Tumeth is actually better than a lot of people give him credit for. He runs hard and defends hard on that right edge. It’s just unfortunate his contract situation is what it is which people overlook his talent for.

Nicholas and Hodges just work hard. A lot of their work goes unnoticed due to some of our other players but these are the guys you need in your team.

In all the games I’ve seen from Faagutu you could tell he was playing with an urgency we’ve never seen before. This might be a hot take but he was playing that 2nd half how we’ve all wanted Stef to play this entire year. The urgency, the aggression that he played with he definitely led from the front and Manly did not want a bar of it. It’s a shame if we let him go

Thanks for the great update. Fa'agutu is a very good player.

Watched the two 17 year olds closely.

Makasini looks big at Flegg level, Large comparatively looks very small in the centres.

They barely got the ball. Large at least went looking for work but Makasini stayed on his wing, not sure he’s been told to stay there.

The one time they got the ball in space they combined and scored.

Nah not necessarily tackling more in the sense of just positional play, jamming in when he doesn’t need to which leaves the side wide open
So Doobie is suspicious in defence?
Makes him sound like Sherlock Homes.
Wait here mr winger while I go and suspiciously investigate whether the opposition are going to attack this side of the field, I’ll be back in 5mins.

Tumeth was largely invisible. I'm sure he made a few runs and a few tackles but wasn't noticeable in work rate or impact.

Imagine if we could turn Maksini into a 2nd row he’d be damaging. Similar to a olakauatu or Koloamatagi with pace
We need him more as a big, strong and fast centre and he fits the bill. We need to use the talents they have and his pace like Large is blistering and what we need to compete with the stronger sides and capitalise on breaks.
