We usually cop a pasting from the Eels because of their strong forward pack.I think anyone expecting us to win this is dreaming.
Keep the expectations low, lads.
Hopefully we can somewhat compete but it'll be us trying our hardest to defend tries and zero attack.
It's going to be ugly but hope they all try.
I’d love to see how he goes at dummy half. He’s never played there though so God knows how he’d adapt.I get the feeling that Madge will start with Madden/Hastings in the halves and Brooks on the bench in a dummy half role.
Probably just trying to deflect media attention tbh
But as soon as we lose, Brooks will be back in that 7 jumper and we will get the ‘i told you so’
We can say the same for Brooks. After a 170 odd games we can then also make that judgement on MaddenMadden is not versatile so can't see apart from 6 or 7 where he plays and he is not quick.
Would hope they stick with 7 Hastings 6 Brooks
They will and it will improve the team.Madden is not versatile so can't see apart from 6 or 7 where he plays and he is not quick.

madden can't play 9 Brooks can he is.more versatileWe can say the same for Brooks. After a 170 odd games we can then also make that judgement on Madden
if Brooks can get outside his man geez I think he can do plenty of damage against Parramatta. They will and it will improve the team.
Love your postsJedi, however,Luke had a lot more going for him in his start to NRL with legends and stars around him to help...Madden has got bugger all talent around him to help and even learn from, watching first choice players like Jacob not get to dummy half, lose the ball in the process of passing,Ken M watching the ball roll over the sideline with no effort to fall on it,Luke passing forward when we had a clear attacking raid on the Sharks line, etc etc .and all you can do is judge a cup player that is learning and doing his best....I dont mind if people bag players, but at least be fair about the circumstances he has to try and star in to satisfy the critics.....madden can't play 9 Brooks can he is.more versatile
happy to make prediction now
1. Madden will never win halfback of the year
2. Don't think Madden makes any other first grade 17 other than ours
At 6 games in to Luke Brooks career you saw flashes of brilliance yes he has not lived up to that however Madden has not even shown that.
fiar Point Madden has had some duds in key positions, out if form Brooks and Liddle instead of Farah probably doesn't help.Love your postsJedi, however,Luke had a lot more going for him in his start to NRL with legends and stars around him to help...Madden has got bugger all talent around him to help and even learn from, watching first choice players like Jacob not get to dummy half, lose the ball in the process of passing,Ken M watching the ball roll over the sideline with no effort to fall on it,Luke passing forward when we had a clear attacking raid on the Sharks line, etc etc .and all you can do is judge a cup player that is learning and doing his best....I dont mind if people bag players, but at least be fair about the circumstances he has to try and star in to satisfy the critics.....
Didn't think much of him but the truth is he comes on off the bench and slots straight into key positions and his timing is good adjusting to the nuances of the pace of the opposition. There is a reason that Jock Madden is still in the team despite us already having 2 dominant halves. It is because he is a very good player. You can bring him on late in the game and he's able to take advantage of tired defenses. I am convinced that he could be something special.
True that. When we have an injury to a key player, we don't lose our structure anymore. I feel like he's been a big contributor to that.Didn't think much of him but the truth is he comes on off the bench and slots straight into key positions and his timing is good adjusting to the nuances of the pace of the opposition.
Best guy off the bench like that was Austin.
Must watch the game closely.
Conversely, there are plenty of reasons as to why, despite decent halves being in great demand, Madden remains unsigned for next season. Not only by us, but with the Dolphins also entering the competition, sixteen other clubs as well. There is a reason that Jock Madden is still in the team despite us already having 2 dominant halves. It is because he is a very good player. You can bring him on late in the game and he's able to take advantage of tired defenses. I am convinced that he could be something special.
Brooks only stays long term on a pay cut.Madden is better off looking for another club, the combo of Hastings and Brooks is the future. I will eat humble pie I bagged Brooks this year and last year but with the change and direction of Hastings in the halves Brooks is our man.
