I've been one of Grant's biggest fans.
I've seen alot of Grant (AHX he is alot bigger than Beau, he is 6 foot 6 and reasonably broad)
People have questioned his defence, that wont be a drama, he has played alot of 7's rugby, if you can defend in 7's rugby you can defend anywhere.
He tests out of this world on most athletic measures.
He has excellent hands, he will be very good under the highball in attack and defence, and he has had plenty of practice taking them.
He has good footy nous, reads the game well naturally.
The word on him is he works hard and is a pleasure to coach
My concerns.
The up and back of league is foreign to him, and for a big bloke this might take a toll on him and dull his speed.
Dealing with kicks in goal, this aspect of positional play is the only thing more difficult for a winger in league as opposed to union, he will need to learn this, his size again will hurt him in this as well.
The callibre of footballer in NSW cup is similar to the Shute shield IMO, as someone has said, if we had a 22 yo killing NSW cup, we would be calling for him to get a shot.
I have no doubt, if given the opportunity he'll do well, and if he continues to develop i believe he has the potential to be awesome.
