The Jersey Flegg team, led by impressive halfback Liam Scolari..

Anyone want to tell the writer he's a winger ?

Yep - he look like a halfback all right!!

![Scolari.jpg](/assets/uploads/files/1633825323024-scolari.jpg)

He looks a footballer.
That’s a good start.

He's one of those players who won't let you down and gives 100% every time he takes the field - not afraid of contact or the dirty hitups - unlike Nofo he doesn't crab sideways.

I'd like our scouts to be out and about in Dubbo and its environs. A great town to pick up really good and tough talent.

It's worked well for Penrith.

especially as. they stuffed the clubs there

He was extremely unlucky not to be selected for the Aust Schools Rugby team from St Josephs College according to a then current Waratah player.

How long has he been playing League?

Looks like Ejay Lui is gone too. I thought he looked very good with work to do on his fitness but didn't seem like the club rated him for whatever reason.

Strange. He played some KOE too. I think the timing of this change over to Sheens and the tolerance of Hartigan's supposed bad practices will will set us back a couple seasons I think.

Where’d you see that mate?

Yeah, he was playing 3rd grade for Western Suburbs a fair bit this year, which isn’t where they usually put the elite juniors.

Was always a bit on the chubby side so maybe a fitness thing like you said.

There was a Q & A on one of the many WT fan instagram accounts. I think this one is Talking Wests Tigers. Lui said he was going up to QLD.

Couldn't cut it in real estate ???

Guess not lol

If Sheens wants McDonnell onboard then so be it , no good having people whine about everything, it is what it is

Yeah we should shut up and let the club become the wooden spoon favourite every season .....should keep the 400 000 WT's fans in raptures

So looks like at the moment he isn't contracted with anyone for next season. Not us (as Hartigan didn't bother to discuss contract extensions with anyone).

He doesn't come across as overly professional, even when making a video for instagram for fans. Sure i think he's a bit of a larrikin, but he's got to put the hard yards in too. Haven't seen him train so not sure what his attitude is like there.

Was impressive in NSW Cup cameo and just needs to work on his fitness to be able to last longer out on the field. So long as he's prepared to put in the hard work over the off season and work on his game.

Sounds like he's one of these players being poorly advised to ditch NSWRL and play in QRL due to covid, which is just nonsense. I'd certainly keep him on a nsw cup contract for next season, potential to be one of the most damaging props in the game.

Hartigan has done a great job of putting together a gun JF side and then letting them all leave.

So from what I can gather:

Mavoni - Dogs
EJ - QLD Cup
J HIll - Cowboys
Sykes - Panthers
Ogden - gone

We havent had a single player from the side announced as staying. With EJ and Mavoni going I assume the club has prioritized Tupou and Pole. This is fine however as fans we'd love some sort of announcement. Both Webster-Mansfield and Perry have recently been on fan insta Q&As saying they dont have contracts for next year but would love to stay.

Someone on the forum recently said Dillon, Stevanovic, Rua Nga and Scolari were training with the NRL side over the pre season, however thats all we've heard.

We only know about the players who have left because those clubs have announced it, nothing from us.

We can only hope he'll be back in a year or two after improving his game in their development set-up before realising he's got no pathway to first grade there and seeks an opportunity elsewhere.

Still, this is a massive fail to lose a local boy like this in a position we're desperate for quality. Will he make it? Who knows, but we should have been the ones to find out first

Seems we are indeed a development club…. For other teams.

Been like that for a while.
Re’ notable losses, add highly credentialed Wests junior rep players; Tom Fletcher (Souths) & Liam Sutton (Newcastle) to the list.
