Keiran Foran

Hopefully he can now concentrate on working through all his off field issues and then once sorted make a comeback. Wish him all the best in the meantime.

sorry but i dont feel sorry at all for him, bloke is on 1 million a year yet cant be happy. if it was u or me with home problems or a gambling problem u would go talk to a family member or ur best mate, have coffee or a beer and get on with live, but these so called super stars want rehab and every one to feel sorry for them, FORAN grow a set and get on with it.

Probable will not end well ..broke and sleeping on a park bench. A bit of humility would not go astray ,there are people that have not got the STRENGHT of mind to deal with things sometimes hence Beyond blue .Money means nothing when it gets like this ..we all can not be mentally strong giants like yourself when a beer or a coffee fixes these serious issues .I wish Kieren good luck with his life moving forward and he stays safe!

gee it really pisses me of when people take a swipe at what i say as a general statement. 90% of the general public have to settle for a coffee or a beer when things get tuff we dont get are employer to send us overseas to a rehab centre. have been there and yes i had to settle for a beer and good mates and my boss told me i am not at work next week dont come monday. i dont wish foran any ill will but iam sick of the rich and famous getting a leg up which us little people dont get. so get of ur high horse mate.

Can't help but feel sorry for the bloke. Is life has literally unravelled since he left the Sea Eagles. Hope he gets the help he needs, football can take a backseat for awhile.

Isn't this just like Parra. Last yr when he almost backflipped, Sterlo said he was the most important signing in club's history, and now he's walking out on them halfway through his first season. The silver lining is they might get Hayne back, but at 29 with 2 yrs out of the game, i don't think he'll get back to the same level.

Suck it Parra, cheating vermin deserve all they get.
Seems VERY fishy that Foran would just walk away from 4 million bucks, it seems that it is just an easy way of getting out of the mess that is the Parramatta club. Hey presto, he will be fully recovered by next season and be snapped up by a NRL powerhouse club thus giving him a greater chance of another premiership- Roosters always have room for another international on their books seemingly.
Sceptical way to look at the whole situation but not many people would give up on millions of dollars, you would think that being unemployed wouldn't be the best thing for someone with supposed mental issues.

Most employers will generally help you out when you're going through a hard time. I know my employer does and past employers have as well. They offer counselling for employees who are having a hard time, be it work related or not. So it's not just limited to the rich and famous. And he won't be rich for much longer considering he's just walked out of his job to concentrate on getting better.

The difference between the likes of Foran and your average Joe is that ol' Joe doesn't have his whole life unravel in the public arena. The scumbags at the Telegraph are probably waiting with baited breath for Foran's next issue so they have another back page spread to run, without any regard for his well being. And if it goes to the extreme and the bloke knocks himself off they'll take the high road and blame everyone from the game to the ball boys for his issues but conveniently omit the part they played.

Depression is a prick to deal with in its own right, much less having parasites waiting for your next issue to arise so they have a meal ticket for the week. I hope he finds the support and help he needs to beat his demons, and is most importantly left alone to deal with it.

Foran future clouded despite Eels stance
By AAP

The future of Parramatta star Kieran Foran is up in the air after he was linked to an exit from the NRL club on Friday due to injury and personal issues. There were reports on Friday morning that Foran told coach Brad Arthur at training on Thursday of his intention to walk out on a $4.8 million contract with the Eels. The speculation drew a swift response from the Eels.

"The Parramatta Eels have not received a request from Kieran Foran's management regarding a release from his contract," the club said in a statement. "Kieran's welfare is the club's primary concern and the Eels will continue to offer him all the resources available to aid in his recovery.
"The club will be making no further comment on the matter."

However there is no doubt his contract with the club, which still has three years to run, is in doubt after he was hit with a breach notice and stripped of the captaincy last week. The Kiwis international is already being linked to a return to Manly. He could also rejoin former coach Des Hasler, whom he won the 2011 premiership under, at Canterbury, or could decide on a switch to Sydney Roosters to play alongside good mate Mitchell Pearce.

Foran has been ruled out of the rest of the NRL season due to a shoulder injury suffered in round 11 but has been remiss in attending rehabilitation, something that resulted in him being hit with the breach notice. The Manly premiership winner has had a troubled year in which he was treated for depression in a Brisbane clinic in late April following an overdose of prescription medicine.

He has also been involved in a battle with the Sea Eagles over $150,000 worth of third-party agreements while playing only nine games for Parramatta. If Foran does leave the Eels, it could pave the way for Jarryd Hayne to return after his stint in the NFL and his endeavours to play rugby union sevens at the Rio Olympics. The drama continues a year from hell for Parramatta, labelled their "worst ever" by club great Peter Sterling.

Not trying to have a go, but you've got to expect someone to have a swipe when you tell a person suffering depression to "grow a set and get on with it". There would be some forummers who needed a lot more help than that in the past, and some that would know a person who had killed themselves.

On the other hand, I can't be the only one thinking there might be another issue here…..

I wish someone thought to tell a mate of mine to grow a set before he decided to blow his brains out last year, he might still be here…

He would need a release from parra before he goes to another club.

^I reckon Parra would be more than happy to give him a release once they have negiotiated the monetary side of things. They know he is damaged goods now and him off their books means Hayne and another 2 or 3 top line players could fit into their roster. They won't want to keep him.

How are your mates loved ones coping with the grief and the guilt? I'm sorry but I can't dredge up much sympathy for a person who commits suicide. They have gone - it's their loved ones who are left to try and live their lives.

I feel so bad for Kieran. I hope he can sort himself out. It would be awful for such a talented young man to lose his life over something which is just a game.

Another exclusive from the great man Danny Wanker. Give it a week and the real story will emerge.

FOX just announced Foran's manager has asked parra for a release, it is official now.

For people saying get over it, you are getting paid good money etc I'm sure money would be the last thing on your mind if you were going through what this poor bloke is dealing with at the moment. There are much more important things in life than just money

He seems like a really good person and I hope he can get his life back on track. Good luck to him

It seems to be a common belief among the lower and middle class that the the upper class have money, therefore should be free of depression and that is a load of crap. As if money somehow buys happiness. Look no further than Robin Williams, a man who battled depression privately for most of his life. It's an illness, and in a lot of cases a mental illness. Having money is inconsequential. I dare anyone who believes that philosophy probably has never had depression themselves. I have, and i can tell you from experience, you do not care about anything, but the depression. It consumes your entire life. It's uncontrollable.

Yes could see that helping :bash
