Kelma Tuilagi

Manly have Schuster & Olakau'atu signed up till the end of 2024. Not sure if Schuster will need up at 5/8 if Foran is injured or retires.
Jake & Tom Trbojevic are signed on big $ till the end of 2026. DCE till the end of 2023.
Taupau is off contract at the end off this season.

Probably not going to agree with this, but IMO there is going to be a couple of our current backrowers that will be part of our 2023 assault.
The only way to find out who is going to be in that pack with Papa and Kori is to give some serious minutes to fringe dwellers and development boys.
Chopping and changing won't confirm anything.
You won't know if players can step up unless you give them time to get better.
This year should be full on development of players. If we snag a quality player during the year it will be a bonus.

With a lot of development backrowers in the extended squad. We need to look at an older one on a two year deal. Someone solid in defence.

Crichton, Corey Harawira-Naera, Nikora, Luki all off contract for 2023. if we can jag one of them it would be a good to ok result

Puts us in an awkward position with Blore out. I don't see much time in developing him further, but we may need him in the 17.

Its a strange one

One hand our forward pack needs an overhaul, next year it will happen.

On the other hand we have been active on a youth policy, he is 23 come season start, 24 next year. Last year he showed in a very ordinary forward pack he has something to build off.

With Blore made of glass, Lucy gone and Garner on the outer for ages. We now only have Joe remaining.

Hasler knows how to coach forwards and he will improve in their system.

It’s not a world caving in moment if we get one of the cowboys kids or something else up the sleeve NRL starting quality wise but it is a head scratcher one right now as we have nothing.

Always expected WT were going to miss Blore this season and unlike most, not hastily jumping aboard the Tuilagi hype bandwagon. I for one was not overly impressed with his season opening when comparing it to what Shawn was bringing, particulary defensively after finally getting regular time on the field last year. Probably running better lines as well and hopd he gets back on the paddock.

Basically whenever Brooks is at marker or defending in the middle after a break, it seems that we get punished on that left and concede a lot more tries as a result when Kelma is there.

And yes for the Brooks bashers, I note the try he was unable to hold out one on one yesterday. That said, what on earth was Gildart thinking at the time, going inside instead if assisting?

IMO - our roster is so poor in comparison with opposition teams that any loss of our present players (with a couple of notable exceptions - Hastings for example) will result in procuring better players. Players like Garner, Tuilagi etc will be replaced, and new "stars" will appear.
It's the circle of life.

Highly overrated this guy. The sooner he goes to Manly the better.

Not sure how it came through on the TV, but watching live I felt he let us down badly yesterday, and his lack of effort helped Manly score 3 tries, effectively costing us the game. His dropped ball on tackle 2 attacking Manly's line right on halftime when we were a man down was unforgivable for me. Lead to Manly's 3rd try, resulting in 14 nil lead. 8 nil at half time and I believe we win this game, although Toa's dropped ball after our 2nd try was very costly also.

I thought he was lazy covering the inside when Tola set DCE for that try.

And the 3rd, was his complete lack of effort to help Simpkin out when Alioai scored. He left the young hooker posted.

No workmate in this guy either.

I don't rate him. Garner has twice as much heart.
Yep, I thought his efforts the last two games have been very poor….

I like Kelman and think he has improved heaps this year. He was really bad defensively last year and this year he's mostly been good. Had a bad game yesterday but I'd still want him if we had the opportunity to keep him. Maybe not a starter in top side but still an impact player.

Lost three backrowers, all can play, and replaced with one - albeit a bewdy- but the idea is to strengthen the squad. For a club that consistently struggles with recruitment it looks one step forward two steps back.
Let's wait and see before we pass judgement. Papali'i certainly strengthens our squad. Who knows who they replace the other two with, they could be upgrades

He certainly has become a pea-heart.

Manly must wonder exactly what they have bought for 2023. It is quite possible he'll pull up his socks and contribute weekly, or just as likely that he'll fail to make the grade and spend his time jogging about in Manly reserves.

They’ll be blaming us
