100%. Coaches get sacked for performances that mean they battle to avoid the spoon every year.
Not for taking an injured riddled team of teenagers to the top 8.
I said in another thread, coaching is a results driven job and Potter has more than got the results. There is no good reason to dismiss him.

Sheens had teams between 06 - 09 that should have made the top 8 every year, yet there was never even a whimper of him being shown the door when that didn't happen. Its hard to understand what goes on at this club. They can mark their 15th year however they like, but I will remember it as the year they sacked the coach who started to take the club forward.

"Hard to read some of this stuff today. Can assure you all that the club will communicate when there is something to say. Gameday is focus," Mayer said.

This is a stupid statement. How can the coach and players focus on game day when there is all this rubbish around. The NRL has surely become a business with the worst associated morals. A lot of the humanity they try to portray is just a front.

So Payten not experienced enough???
Won the premiership in 20's in his first season. Was high up in his second year, until injuries hit in the finals to key players. Then third year assistant coach in firsts!
Has coached all the young guys coming through the 20's into firsts, so knows them better and already has their respect.
Being young may help him be closer to the gen Y's!
Strong rumour has it that it was him that prompted farah to approach Tedesco, which leads you to think he is more in-touch with the players than the potter..
Not to mention that he was always a smart footballer (maybe smarter than his skill set)
I still cant believe that people still cant see that potter is just not there, look at the dressing room before and after the game he looks lost…
Remember support the club not the individuals...

Winning an NYC premiership isn't a reason to hire him

Potter has proven himself in the ESL

Many coaches have won NYC premierships , why not hire one of them ??

As I said before putting Payten in now would be doing what the Saints did with Nathan Brown and it will fail

The minute he tries to install discipline to his mentors it will all go to crap

Why you ask Because every other time a coach at the Tigers has tried the players revolt and say they want someone else

Fine if five years time give Todd a go , but now will be another disaster

Funnily enough the coaches I disliked the most when I played were the most successful coaches , but I still respected the fact they knew how to get the best out of us

I don't read the Terror on Saturdays and only saw the Mike Bailey quotes in the herald. All he mentioned was that there is the scheduled meeting this Thursday and the role of head coach was on the agenda.

Anyway….Dean Ritchie.....the press' biggest Manly fan. Nice headline grabbing article like this takes the focus away from the petulance on the Manly brats. They literally had a player stating another player should be given a release! We have had no player make such comments.

Further, if a bit of instability can be generated at Wests, Manly can approach some of our young stars as they will be cashed up after they release some of their players. It's 1980 all over again....
